The Refuge (Noire x Writer)

Overcoming The Past (3 months later)

     It's been 3 months since Sophie died and every night, I've been sleeping beside her grave. I've been walking on the boulevard of broken dreams. I was out walking down the road aimlessly when I heard a call that sounded familiar.

???-"Rick...Rick...Do you remember me?"

-"Who's there?"

???-"Someone you know very well..."

-"Then show yourself!"

???-"I cannot, for I am not in this world anymore."

-"What do you mean? Who are you?"

???-"I'll give you a hint."

-"I'm listening."

???-"You always did listen to what I had to say, even if you disagreed."

-"What's the hint?"

???-"I remember holding your hand as I died in your arms."

     My eyes widened with shock, flashbacks started playing in my head. Could it really be?

-"Sophie? Is that you?"

Sophie?-"Finally, you remember me. I knew you would never forget me."

-"Why are you here Sophie? And how?"

-"I am here because I wanted to tell you something."

-"What is it?"

-"There is a bigger threat than the Lava Diamond that is coming to Gamindustri, and it's coming fast. No one else but you has the power to stop it."

-"What's coming?"

-"I cannot say, even if I tried. All I can say is that you need to prepare. Evacuate the people of Lastation. You'll know that he's arrived when it's the third day of thunderstorms. You must be alone to fight him."

-"Why though?"

-"Because you're his mortal enemy. Apparently you're part of a prophecy of some kind. If there's anyone else there, he'll steal their life energy. But you're the one he can't steal energy from. That's why he's after you. Go now, secure Lastation, and defeat this evil that torments the dead."

-"I will do it for you Sophie, that's a promise!"

     I turned and started running to get some speed for take off. I flew back to the Basilicom as fast as I could. I barged in the door to see the CPU's gaming. I just walked towards my room to get my arsenal.

-"Oh, hey Rick." Neptune said.

-"You're in a hurry." Blanc said.

-"Is something the matter dear?" Vert asked.

-"Rick, is something wrong?" Noire asked.

     I walked back out of my room fully equipped and turned to the CPU's.

-"Evacuate Lastation and put your nations on lock down! There's something coming here for me and only I can fight it! We need to evacuate the nation and secure the others!"

-"What about Lastation?" Noire asked.

-"I'll do my best to not damage it that badly but I can't promise anything."

-"Who told you this?" Vert asked.

-"......My sister......Please just listen to me! Evacuate Lastation and secure your nations!"

-"If you're certain." Red Soul said.

-"I am." 

-"Alright, we'll go secure our nations the best we can." Blanc said.

-"Thank you."

     We all got outside. Noire and I went to evacuate Lastation while the others went to their own nations. I hope I can defend Noire and put my sister at peace.

3 DAYS LATER

     The thunderstorms became strong. I stood at the top of the Basilicom, watching, waiting for something to happen. The winds suddenly became stronger and I saw what looked like a massive portal appear over the nation. A small white light shot down from the portal, heading towards the ground. I watched its descent. It crashed into the ground with a big shock wave that I could feel from here. I continued watching, something shot out the top fast. It started getting larger, it was coming towards me! I ducked quick enough to dodge it as it flew past me. I looked to see what it was and I saw something horrific. It was huge, had green skin and had one single horn jetting out it's head.

???-"You're the one aren't you?"

-"Depends on what you mean by "the one"."

???-"You're the one that I can't steal life energy from! I will have your soul instead!"

ROOOOOOOAAAAR

     He roared loudly and hurdled towards me I blocked his hand with my blade. I was ready for any type of opponent. I grabbed his hand and threw him down the building. I went down to see him on the ground slowly getting up.

-"It appears I've underestimated you. For that, I will go all out!"

     His chest started glowing and getting brighter by the second. He yelled as a beam of light shot down from the sky into the glowing spot. He started getting even bigger and roared louder. His chest stopped glowing as he reached what I thought was his limit. He was charged up now. I was the first to charge at him. My sword went right through his abdomen and I held it there, he just laughed as the sword snapped inside him. WTF?! He slapped me away and charged towards me. I had to get serious!

13 MINUTES LATER

     He knocked me to the ground with one final punch and walked up to me with his sword in hand. Was this the end? He looked down at me with a cocky smile.

-"It seems that I still stand. BUT YOU WILL FALL!!!"

     He raised his sword and I closed my eyes as I waited for the inevitable.

     I heard the sound of a sword stabbing something. As I opened my eyes, I saw something astonishing.
