The monster was just a pile of moving seaweed, only with the exception of a small wooden mask on the front of it. it swung its arm at Sokka, he jumped back using his machete to cut the vines back, but he wasn't fast enough the vines took a hold of him and picked him up off the ground.

Aang was quick on his toes to Sokka's aid, he used his airbending to slice through the vines, the monster dropped Sokka hard on the ground, its focus now on Aang.

I quickly ran to help Aang, I lit a small fire in the palm of my hand, I watched as Aang was flung off into the trees, I watched worried as he went flying directly at a tree, but was relieved when Aang used his airbending to push off the tree and back into the fighting scene.

Katara was now up against the walking seaweed, she sliced at it with her waterbending, using the swamp water around her, she sliced at the upper part of its arm leaving a gaping hole, but it only slowed it down for a moment before the vines would regrow over the wound, I watched amazed at Kataras fighting techniques, she flowed just like water, starting at one end and bringing her body forward her arms rising up and taking the water with her ending in a fierce attack.

"Ayla!" I turned to see Sokka's panicked face before I was swept off my feet and now dangling high in the sky, the monster had taken hold of my ankle and was getting ready to send me flying, in my panicked state I did the first thing that came to mind and brought my hands to my side, letting them flow back and forth making a tiny fire ball in my hand and sending it up to the vines that had my ankle.

I was quick to my feet, watching the monster carefully, he swung his arms at me trying to grab a hold but I was agile and I used it to my advantage. I jumped over the vines and prepared myself for another bending stance, I placed my back leg firmly on the ground behind me and the other came out smoothly in front of me, following the movement of my feet with the palms of my hand I sent a blast right to the center of the monster reviling a short fat man inside.

"There's someone in there! He's bending the vines!" Sokka yelled as we all watched the vines cover the hole I had made, the vines came up after me and I ran as fast as I could trying to keep the monster distracted as Katara used the swamp water, she swung her arms by her side quickly making rings of water that cut at the monster before she twisted her body in the water and made a massive ring that sliced the mask right off the monsters face.

The monster stopped moving for a single moment before it was attacking us again, it was after Katara now it lifted her out of the water and into the air, she struggled to get free but Aang was done with this fight. the monster was weak and Aang knew it, he jumped up over Katara with his airbending and sent a gust of wind that pushed the monster back.

"Why did you call me here if you just wanted to kill us?" Aang demanded his hand was up defensively.

"WAIT!" I voiced called out from inside of the vines, the vines slowly melted away into the swamp to reveal the old man who had been hiding in the seaweed monster.

"I didn't call you here" He said with his arms raised in confusion.

"We were flying over and I heard something calling to me, telling me to land" we where all still in defensive stances waiting for this man to attack us.

"He's the Avatar. Stuff like that happens to us a lot" Sokka moved his body slowly in front of mine in a protecting way, but the man didn't seem interested in hurting us anymore.

"The avatar? Come with me" the man turned and started to walk up higher in the tree, the gang and I all looked at each other before shrugging our shoulders and following the man.

"So, who are you then?" Katara asked as the man pulled some vines out of the way and kept moving forward.

"I protect the swamp from folks that want to hurt it, like this fella with his big knife" I smirked up at Sokka who didn't seem to take this offensively.
