I dug through my closet and looked for the best outfit I could. I came up with a pair of neatly pressed jeans, dark blue sweetheart top and black cropped leather jacket. Don’t ask me why I liked leather jackets. I tied my hair back into a pony tail and did some make up. It was Friday night and I was nervous slightly. Did I like Trent? Yea, I guess.

My door bell rung and I rushed downstairs and opened the door to Bryn. “Hey gr- whoa, you look hot” she looked at me up and down. Her eyes stopped at my hair and she raised her eyebrows. My hand went up cautiously to touch then thought better of it.

“Really, tied up. I remember how much you hated hair ties that you wouldn’t stop touching it to get it off” she smirked at me and I just send her a warning glare. “Well, this look was good on me so shut up” I poked out my tongue at her.

“Well, I was here to see if you are free to go to the movies with Chase and me”

“I have a date with Trent” I whispered. She looked at me funny then smiled. “My little girl is growing up” she gave me a sarcastic smile and I rolled my eyes at her. She was laughing now but then as sudden as it was she sobered up and looked at me.

“You sure you want to go out with him” Bryn inquired. I scowled at her. Of course. Trent is a nice guy. He is sweet and kind and funny. Rafe isn’t. He is definitely not sweet but he seems to make me feel alive again and I still hate him. What? How did I start thinking about Rafe while thinking about my date?

Something suddenly started to buzz against my butt. I propped myself up and dug it out. The screen flashed his name. Rafe. My heartbeat sped up fast as I punched the answer button and held the device to my ear.

“Hello” I said in a whisper. There was a dark chuckle on the other end that made me shiver. “What are you up to clumsy?” his alluring voice made it hard for me to concentrate and my mouth felt dry.

“Nothing…….” I trailed off until I remembered something. I was going out with Trent. “Actually I have a date with Trent” I spoke confidently. I heard him inhale a sharp breath and groan softly. “Well now you don’t. You have to tutor me and I think you can’t skip that” his smug voice made me clutch the phone in death grip. I am tired of this. First he wants to be around me and the next second, he pushes me away like I was nothing and it hurt.

“Well too bad numbnuts. I have a date and I am not going to sacrifice my social life just so you can get a damn A on history” I spat out and then I hung up. I waited in anger until I heard the car horn beep. My heart jumped in surprise.

I got up and went to the door. I opened it reluctantly to see Trent in his black Porsche. I didn’t expect anything less. I did meet him at a charity ball. I gave him a smile and gestured him to wait. He gave me a grin then turned off his engine.

“So where are we going?” I asked him when I got in the car. He smiled mischievously. “Look behind” he said afterwards. I looked and saw a couple of ice skating boots. Almost instantly, my mood brightened.

When we arrived at the ice rink, I got out as quickly as I could. Ice skating was something I loved since I was little. I had my little world when I ice skated. I squeezed myself inn some boots I had brought earlier when we made a stop at a store. I grinned as I slid on to the smooth glassy surface and glided along it with my eyes closed.

I out stretched my arms and spun around slowly, feeling the icy cold hair ruffle my hair out and some of it come on to my face. I came to stop and smiled. I almost laughed when I remembered I was here on a date so I made my way back to Trent who was watching me intently.

I laced my black gloved fingers through him and blushed. Well, more like forced myself to blush. He looked down to our laced hand together and smiled up at me. “So what do you think? Too much for a first date?” he asked me nervously. I stayed silent and smiled at him. I glided across the ice with him behind me.
