My butt ached from being glued to one seat for hours plus the changing of time zones really left me sick that i was sure i was going to hurl any second but thankfully i held till i got of the air plane and into the taxi. My family really had no idea i was returning. My mom sent me away to study but now, i am back. The house was still the same Victorian off white style with french doors. I checked my watch and it was 7 in the morning. My brother was proably heading for school and my dad mightve already left for work. My mom might be asleep. I rang the door bell and it seemed that my brother took his time. I annoyed him. I rang the door bell till someone opened up. “Dont you have patience?” said that voice i missed for the last two years.

“Good morining sleepy head” i said and my brother’s eyes widened in shock. He hadnt changed a bit. The same messy hairstyle and the same fashion sense. Black t-shirt and faded denim jeans with a leather jacket.“Rafe, who is Th.....” my mom appeared out of her room, her hair was messy and i could see streaks of grey in her red hair that used to be so like mine. She trailed of when she saw me.” Allie” she said. “Hey mom, big bro” i said and pushed past my paralized brother gave my mom a tight hug. She hugged back just as tight. Her cheeks had suken into her bones and stormy eyes were pale. She smiled as i drew back. I turned back to my brother, sadness hung on the edges of his eyes. So much like mom’s but darker and misty than her’s. “You can stand there and gape or you can hug me and smile” i said. He chose the second option. My spine nearly broke from his bear hug. When he drew back, he was grining widely and that grin was no good. He threw me over his shoulder and ran down the hall to the swimming pool. Oh shit. Cold water rushed over my body. Thankfully my jacket and my phone were safe but i couldnt say the same about Rafe. He offered his hand to pull me out and i hesitantly took it only to tug hard and he fell into the water. I laughed as his face emerged out of water. “What goes around, comes around bro” i dunked him into water and he took me down with him.

We spent an hour getting wet and when we finally came out, Rafe was looking really worried.”What happened?” i asked and he smiled at me. “Because Elizsabeth, iam late for math” he laughed. “Well then, so am i. I forgot to tell you, i will be going to school with you” i grinned and he groaned. “What did i do to deserve that” he said in mock annoyence. I laughed and went to my room to get ready for school.

Rafe said goodbye and made his way to his second class while i headed for the office. The bell rang signaling the end of first period. Students rushed out in all directions and i found my locker. It was beside a girl that had glasses and wore a hoodie. He black hair tucked in and her eyes downcast. Her sleeve slipped up and i could see purple skin. Bruises. “Umm hi” i said to her. She turned her eyes to me and smiled. Her smile lit up her face but her eyes held no emotion. Just shining beautiful circles of grey. “Hi” she said. Her voice almost a whisper. She took out her chemistry book and asked for my scheduale. She, the students in senior and junior shared the same classrooms. “I am Eliszabeth but call me Allie” i said, extanding my hand. She shook it. “Alexandria. Lex or Lexi”. A boy around my age with light brown hair and really green eyes came up behind her. “You know you can’t sneak up on me Will” Lexi said without turning around. Will’s shoulders slumped in disappointment. I stifled a giggle and he noticed and frowned. “And you are?” he asked. “Oh, sorry. Will, this is Allie. Allie, my brother, Will” she said. I smiled at the guy but he didnt return it. I opened my locker and stuffed my bag in and all of us headed in chemistry class. I dropped down into the seat beside Lexi and Will sat infront of her. It seemed he never left her side, like he was protecting her from something. Rafe walked in, really late. He smirked at Lexi and she frowned. I could feel the room tempreture dropping as he dropped down into the seat behind Lexi. “hey listen up!” he shouted. “meet my little sis, Allie and any thing bad happens to her, that person will regret it” he said. i groaned. He was sometimes over protective. Will stared at Rafe then at me and his green eyes held a look of something i couldnt place.
