Ren was waiting for me at dinner. He knew what I had done, but he didn't understand. He never would.
I took my seat next to another ex-soldier. We had been in the same unit. He understood, but he was different.
"Hey, Valentina, heard you got one of them." He smiled. "Good job."
I nodded.
"Those bastards won't take us over."
I was silent.
Ren sat on the other side of me. Raphael snorted and rolled his eyes. "You still training him?" He asked. "Cause if not, I'd be willing to put his ass to use."
I sighed annoyed. "Raph,"
Raph looked at Ren. "How 'bout you have a real man be your teacher?"
Ren was silent, completely ignoring Raph.
"A woman doesn't belong in the military."
Ren stood up and picked up his tray.
"A woman's place is in bed with her legs spread."
The tray clattered to the ground. Ren's fist collided with Raph's face. I gasped. I couldn't believe that he had done that.
Raph was lying on the floor holding his jaw. I could see the pain in his eyes. Ren had broken his jaw.
Ren cracked his knuckles and walked away. I stood up quickly and went after Ren. He didn't do things like that for no reason.
