"Ansel," I said cautiously. "I can't see anything. It's all black."
"Shit," He mumbled. "Sorry Val, I'm not equipped to do this properly."
I closed my eyes. "Just get my vision back."
An hour later, I was looking through a new lens. "Oh my god," I whispered looking around the lab. "It's so clear and bright." I looked at Ansel smiling.
"Im glad you like it."
I blushed a little.
"You're the first to try it out."
"So more people can be equipped with these now?"
"Yea," Ansel said. "As soon as it gets approved by the Senate, a hundred people are getting it. Fifty vets, fifty novices."
"What if it doesn't get approved?"
Ansel shrugged and sighed. "Then the past nine months of work will have been for nothing." He was annoyed just thinking about it.
"You're worried."
Ansel nodded. "They've shot down my idea for water purification. And now I've reinvented the implant. They're never gonna accept it."
"You never know." I said looking around again. "With my testimony, they just might."
