The Untold Story. Part 1

Chapter seven

"You're late!"

"I am so sorry Janet, I didn't mean to. I just don't know who shut the alarm off and I woke up half an hour late. I'm really sorry, I'll make sure I make it up to you?" Said Lola

"Hmmmm!!" I sighed while I faked it. "So what time will the bus arrive?"

With a tensed and sour face, she responded, "The bus will arrive any minute.!"

"Alright!"

As she said, the bus was there in exactly 2 mins after I had asked.

Lola didn't say a word during the whole journey, she thought I was mad at her. On the other side I was tiring really hard to control my laughter within me, it was real fun pulling her leg though.

As we reached Church, Lola once again looked at me and said, "I'm sorry Janet, please don't be mad at me. I will make sure I make it up to you"

As I looked at her face... her expressions expressed she could have cry any minute now. I couldn't fake my angry and laughed out hard that I almost fell on the ground . Lola on the other hand was just surprised at me outburst. She just didn't understand as to why was I acting so weirdly.

"Janet...were you faking your anger all this while? How could you, I was so scared and thought you were mad at me and what not!"

"I'm sorry Lola, I didn't mean to scare you but only if you could see the expressions of your face! They were all completely pale and looked as if someone was about to shoot you down!"

"It's really not funny" she said as she smiled, " You bitch! I so love you!"

"Aww... I love you too"

From the corner of my eye I could see Carol. She was busy talking to few people I wasn't aware of with some familiar faces from school. 

"Hey Carol"I said while I walked towards her.

"JANET..!!" she said surprisingly "Women where were you all this while? We missed you so much!"

"Haha...!! Yea I missed being here too, But I'm here now so it's fine" I said excitedly.

"Yes indeed!" she replied, "So.. !!"

She paused.

"So what?"

"Did you hear the news?"

"What news?"

"Well" Pointing at Clare she said, "Remember David?"

Oh..!! how could I forget about him. David was someone I couldn't have forgotten. But for some reason my heart pounded hard. What was she about to say...!!! The curiosity killed the cat within me.

"Yes I remember him... What happened?"

"David and Clare...!!"

"They what Carol?" My heart raced fast and faster with every second that passed by.

"They are dating." She said with utmost excitement.

Those words poked me within. How and why? It was just a week that I hadn't come and things changed so much? On the other hand why on earth was I sad I should've been happy. My friend is dating DAVID... yeah... !! it's good news. No?

"Really?"

"Yes she is..." said Carol.

"Yesterday he had called up and said that he was kinda interested in Clare and would love to date her. I then convinced her and now they are dating!"

"Oh... !! Oh great... Yeah right, Congrats Clare" I said while I hugged her" I'm really happy for you, I believe he is a nice guy"

"Oh yes indeed he is" Said Carol.

That moment I just felt something. I wasn't aware what was it was. I felt as if something broke within me. I wish I wasn't here today.

There must have being moments like these in your lives too isn't it? A moment when we are not sure of what is happening, a moment when we felt incomplete for no reason. Believe me this is normal, at times we are forced into situation as such, situations where we just don't understand anything for even a minute second.

Janet on the other hand had nothing to do. She was shocked to hear this news, but more than herself she thought of her friend. In spite of the mixed feeling within her she chose to fake being happy. Friendship was more important to her than her feelings.
