I woke up the next morning feeling terrible. I thought about going to the bathroom because I had to pee.

But I- Oh no. Again! Thats my 3rd time. That means....oops! I checked my ankle for the symbol. Yep, it was there.

The purple wave pattern around the left ankle. The symbol of a traveller. They say that if you 'jump' 3 times then your ready to go to traveller high. After your first jump then the school sends you a letter. That informs you about the school. Traveller High is supposed to be top secret but a few years ago someone who became a traveller told his friends and it spread like wild fire. Of course, over time there has been rumours of killer demons and an ancient curse of Simox.

What ever that is. And anyone, no matter who they are, are automatically in love with 'The Line Of Ice'. The legend has some 600 year old curse attached to it or something like it. The rumour of the Simox curse came from The Line of Ice because every child born into the Strent family had gone mad with power and started lying to everyone. But its just bedtime stories. I was shaken from my inner thoughts by my dad knocking on the door.

My dad was still distraught by the death of mum. She died in a car accident 6 months ago. Dad was drunk at the pub and mum couldn't take it anymore and drove off. The next morning we got a call from the police and dad went silent. He wouldn't talk, walk, sleep or even react.

I got so mad at him once that I couldn't stay in the house so I went to my best friends house. Meanwhile, my dad was still trying to get my attention. He has been better lately, talking to me. He was distracted for a moment when he looked in the bin.

His picked up a screwed up piece of paper with the letters T.H written on the back. He dropped it back in the trash and left the room. Oops.

Probably should have hid that a bit better. Dad came rushing in again, this time carrying a polished brown box. He spoke. "Samantha Grey, your great grandmother gave this to your granny who than gave it to your mum. Kate didn't have a chance to give it to you because well...you know." Dad held out the polished brown box to me. I opened the lid. It was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. It was an emerald green dolphin mid-jump hanging on a chain. I had never really gotten a family heirloom before. Unless a stuffed bear that used to belong to a cousin counts. When I put on the necklace I swear I could feel it humming. "I love it!" My dad looked so proud.
