Chapter Twelve - Jay..

We were half way to Phoenix Drop when Jay woke up.

"H-Huh? Where are we?"

"We're going back to Phoenix Drop, you'll like it there."

"Oh...Okay!"

I put Jay down and he stays close to me. He looks over to the guys and tugs on my sleeve.

"Did you see my parents out here?"

I sigh and look down at him, then I look over to Garroth.

"We found her while you were asleep at the camp and she....wanted us to look after you."

He said gently to him.

"D-Does that mean she....she died..?"

We all looked away, not wanting to make eye contact with him.

"So...she did...."

I finally look over at him and I bite my bottom lip.

"Did she?"

Tears are threatening to fall down his cheeks. I nod and he starts crying.

"Jay.."

He looks up to me, a tear falling down his cheek.

"I-I'll be your m-mother...I-If you want.."

His frown turns into a weak smile and he hugs me.

"P-Please.."

Time skip to when you're almost there

We had been walking in silence for the past ten minutes when I feel Jay tug at my sleeve again.

"Hm?"

"Are any of those guys my dad?"

My cheeks instantly go red with some of the boys while Aphmau, Tori and Kate are snickering under their breath.

"No...Neither of us are your dad...Though we would like to be."

Travis answers him.

"TRAVIS, I SWEAR IF YOU TURN JAY INTO A CASANOVA-"

"I won't! No promises.."

"I HEARD THAT!!"

"SORRY MA'AM!!"

He does a salute and continues walking.

"Haha! Mom...What's a Casanova?"

"A Casanova is a guy that hits on girls often and repeatedly gets hurt."

"I'm not being a Casanova ever!!"

We laugh and then...the sight of Phoenix Drop comes into view.

"Are we here?"

"Yup! Welcome to Phoenix Drop.."

I suddenly remember that I don't have a house here. Where am I going to live with Jay?

"Mom..are you okay?"

"Y-Yes..I just need to talk to Aphmau."

"We can talk in private at my house if you like (F/n)."

I twirl my (H/c) hair around my finger. I really hope I can get a house up for Jay.
