Prelude ft. Legolas

Chapter 4

(Galene's POV)

I follow the guard as he stands in a place, just behind the front. I think this is his place to fight. I stand beside him and take an arrow out. I shoot a few orcs down, but then there comes a ladder up. Many orcs come from it and I try to shoot them all down. The guard also helps me. I take a knife of the ground and cut the rope around the ladder and the wall through, and the ladder falls back.

I run towards where an other ladder is, and shoot through an orcs throat. Then I cut the ladder through with my knife once again and the ladder falls back, killing many orcs. I turn around and see an orc behind me with his axe coming to me, I want to grab an arrow, but I know I will be too late.

I jump up when from behind me an arrow shoots right through his head. I turn around and see Legolas. I hope he didn't recognize me, which I doubt, but I quickly run to the other side, shooting an orc through his head while running. I grab a sword off the ground that someone of the people here must have lost.

I stand up and stab an orc in the stomach, I turn around and cut an orcs throat. I knock an orc on the left of me down, and I quickly run back to the guard. I see he has many orcs around him, so I shot two down with my arrow. I attack one from the back by stabbing my sword in his stomach. The guard looks relieved at me. I smile and turn around, immediately knocking one orc with my arm and punch him in the face.

I see Aragorn and Gimli fighting with some orcs, I must say, they're doing well. Legolas yells something like 23 to Gimli and Gimli yells something back, I don't know what they're talking about. I see a few orcs coming up the bridge, probably going to try to get through the gate. I run there and shoot a few orcs down from the side. I keep shooting orcs, and I notice other people are also helping, which I'm glad with. When there is no orc left on the bridge I go back to the front.

I stand beside the guard and help him kill orcs. He is doing really good without me though. I notice a younger boy fighting, and an orc behind him is shooting an arrow at him. I quickly take an arrow out and shoot it right through the orcs head. The arrow the orc shot missed the boy which I'm thankful for. I decide to help the boy, he's actually way to young to fight here.

I run to him and cut an orcs throat who was close to him. ''Thank you'' He says sweet. ''You're welcome'' I say smiling. He stabs an orc with the sword, which surprises me. We fight for a while together, and I realize he is doing pretty good. I look around and realize the half of the orcs are already killed. I hear someone yell behind, and I turn around, seeing Legolas coming too me.

I look at him with a straight face, not knowing what to do. I hear an orc behind me, so I just turn around and stab through him with my sword. I hear something behind me again so I turn around and hold my knife against it's throat. When I realize it's Legolas I quickly pull back. ''What are you doing here?!'' He yells. ''Fighting'' I say while stabbing with my right hand an orc that was coming too close.

''I cuffed you! You have to go back!'' I roll my eyes and take out an arrow, shooting the orc behind him. ''If I wanted to run away I wouldn't be here fighting, would I?'' I say. He looks me in the eyes and walks to the left, cutting an orc's throat with two daggers he has at his back. We fight for another hour, and there aren't many orcs left.

I kick one in the stomach, but while doing that an orc on the right tries to cut me, I move out the way, but he still cuts a part of my leg. Auch. I shoot an arrow trough his head, and he falls down. I look around, stumbling on one leg. Legolas kills the last few orcs with his arrow, and then it's over.

I search through the people, trying to find the guard and the boy I saw before, just to be sure. I hear someone running to me and I turn around. ''What happend to your leg?'' Aragorn asks. ''What does it look like'' I say. Gimli grins but quickly stops. ''Legolas, didn't you cuffed her in the basement?'' Aragorn says, turning to Legolas. ''I did, she escaped, I don't know how'' He answers.

Aragorn turns back to me, an annoyed look at his face. I raise my eyebrows ''I didn't run away'' I say, hoping they won't tie me anymore. Aragorn frowns ''Get here to her room, try to find bandage or anything to wrap around her leg. Make sure she doesn't escape''

Legolas stands beside me and I wrap my arm around his shoulder and he wraps his arm around my waist, so I won't fall. We walk to my room, but then I realize I didn't saw the guard yet, I have to know if he survived. ''Wait! I have to go back! I have to know if the guard is still there.'' I say to Legolas, as we get to the hallway. There flashes something through his eyes, confusion? ''We can't go back now, you're hurt and there has to be put bandage around your leg.'' He says. ''Just for a minute!'' I say, trying to go back. But he's way stronger, and I can't run. He put me in my room. ''I'm going to get bandage'' He says, but before he leaves he puts rope around my hand and the chair so I won't go away.

When he comes back he unties the rope, which I am happy with. He rolls up my jeans till my knee, and sees the cut in my leg. ''I can do it myself'' I say but he ignores me. He puts water on the wound to clean it and I flinch. He wraps the bandage around my leg, and stand up. ''Aragorn, Gimli and I will leave tomorrow, we don't know yet if we will let the people here keep you, or that you'll travel with us.'' I nod and he leaves. I wait a few minutes, and then silently walk out the door. I look around, no one. I walk, with a little pain in my leg, upstairs.

I see Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli talking with the king. They are in the room where we arrived in, the room of the king. It's more like a hall of the king because it's so huge. I walk through the hall, as silent as possible so they won't notice me. Someone walks through the door of the hall and they turn around. I jump up a little, but then realize it's the guard from before. I smile and he notices me.

He walks towards me and I walk toward him as far as possible. When he stands in front of me he gives me a hug. I first freeze, it's been a while since I've actually had a hug, but I hug him back. It feels a little weird though, but for me he feels like a friend. He pulls back and looks at me. ''What happend to your leg, my lady?'' he asks. ''It's nothing, it just hurts a little bit.'' I smile.

Gandalf interrupts us, ''It would be better if you would rest.'' he says to me. I frown. I just wanted to talk to the guard. But I know they will put me in my room if I don't walk there myself. ''I'll see you later'' the guard says and I smile. I walk to my room, lay on my bed, and immediately fall asleep.

Later the day I wake up and just lay on my bed for a few minutes. I realize how hungry I actually am, but I don't think they'll serve me food. I just sit in my room for a few minutes but I can't stay for too long in one room, so I walk outside. I see the guard and another guard walking through the hallway. I walk to them and tap on his shoulder.

''Yes, my lady?'' The other guard asks. ''I don't know if this is possible, but could I maybe get something to eat? It doesn't matter what. I understand if the king doesn't want you guys to serve me food.'' I add quickly. ''I'll bring food to your room in a minute'' My friend says smiling. ''Thanks'' I say and I walk back to my room.

A few minutes later there is a knock on my door and I open it. ''Here is your food, m'lady'' He says, and hands me a bowl of fruit. ''Thank you, very much.'' I say gratefully. He is about to walk away, but I interrupt him. ''What's your name?'' He smiles and says ''Mudor" I smile and he walks away.
