Jake stormed over and shoved Seamus away. He pulled me towards him protectively. “You dirty emo fag!” he growled dangerously. Seamus laughed. “Really? You want to start this again prep boy?”

I guess I’m not all that surprised that boys were fighting over me. I’m sure they did it all the time. After all, it was me. I was beautiful! But this was kind of scary since I knew Seamus could kick Jake’s ass.

“Jake, he’s a dick. Let’s ignore him and just walk away,” I said as casually as possible. No need to get Jake suspicious. But Jake was giving a furious look at Seamus. “You were trying to kiss my girlfriend!” he cried and shoved Seamus up against the wall. Seamus laughed harder. “Dude, what the hell? Your flab is jiggling.”

Oh man.

Jake punched him in the face.

Seamus’s head snapped to the side. He turned back, a demonic look in his eyes as they shot daggers at Jake.

“That’s enough.”

We turned as Richie and Clifton stood there. Richie was glaring and Clifton had that analyzing look he always seemed to have. They walked over and Richie roughly shoved Jake off of Seamus.

“You alright?” he asked. Seamus nodded coldly. “I’ll kick his ass. He fucked up my hand.” “Walk away. You’ll get him back later,” Clifton said.

Jake looked furious. “Shut up you spoiled emo bastard! You think you’re so cool? You think you know everything? You can fuck off! Your own mom didn’t want you!” he cried angrily. Clifton raised an eyebrow. “Really? She didn’t? What a shame. Too bad I got over that years ago.”

Jake clenched his fists and glared. “What? You don’t have anything better to say than that? You’re all talk. And even your talk is pathetic. All you ever say is that Seamus is a fag or that I’m a spoiled bastard and my mom didn’t want me. Or else you tell PacMan he’s a freak. Guess what? He likes it. And Seamus and I don’t care.”

Seamus nodded. “He’s right. We don’t care! Talk all your shit. Go for it.” Jake just kept glaring. Seamus seemed to have calmed down a bit. “See? You’ll always lose you dumb ass preppy bitch.”

He turned to walk away. Angrily, Jake leapt at him and punched him in the back of the head. Seamus slowly spun around. Riche grabbed him and held him back as he tried to jump at Jake.

“I’m fucking calling you out Seamus!” Jake cried. “Tonight! The lot!” “I’ll be there you bastard!” Seamus spat as Richie and Clifton dragged him into the lunch room.

“You alright?” Jake asked. I nodded slowly. I was confused. Was Seamus fighting for me like I had hoped he would? Or was he fighting for revenge for his hand? Ugh.

Why were emos so confusing?

***Seamus’s POV***

I'm holding on so tightly now
My insides scream so loud
They keep watching, watching me drown
How did it come to this?
How did it come to this? How did I know it was you?
It was a bad dream asphyxiated, watch me bleed
The life support was cut, the knot was too tight
They push and pull me but they know they'll never win
?Throw it all away, throw it all away?, I keep on screaming
But there's really nothing left to say
So get away, just get away, I keep on fighting
But I can't keep going on this way
I can't keep going, can't keep going on like this
They make me sick and I get so sick of it
'Cause they won?t let me, they won?t let me breath
Why can't they let me be?
Why can't they let me be? Why don't I know what I am?
I force this hate into my heart 'cause it's my only friend
My lips are sewn shut, I watch myself bleed
They push and pull me and it's killing me within
?Throw it all away, throw it all away?, I keep on screaming
But there's really nothing left to say
So get away, just get away, I keep on fighting
But I can't keep going on this way
I can't keep going, can't keep going on this way
I can't keep going, can't keep going on this way
My heart beat stumbles and my back bone crumbles
I feel, is it real as the lynch mob doubles?
They want blood and they'll kill for it
Drain me and they'll kneel for it
Burn me at the stake, met the devil, made the deal for it
Guillotine dreams, yeah their guillotine gleams
The blood of their enemies watching while they sentence me
Sentencing ceased, sentence deceased
And watch them bask in the glory of their holy disease
?Throw it all away, throw it all away?, I keep on screaming
But there's really nothing left to say
So get away, so let?s just get away, I keep on fighting
But I can't keep going on this way
I keep on running, I keep on running
I keep on running but I can't keep going on this way
I keep on running, I keep on running
I keep on running but I can't keep going on this way

My iPod played in my ears as I droned out the lunch room. A fight with Jake would make me feel better. I could get out all my anger and hurt.

Someone tapped on my shoulder. I turned the music down and faced Jer. He bit his lip nervously. “I don’t think you should go to the fight,” he said at last. I raised an eyebrow. “Why not?” “My dad got in a fight when he was around our age and he got stabbed. He almost died.”

I rolled my eyes. “Jer, I’ll be fine. I can handle myself.” He sighed. “Alright bro. But we’re coming with you!” I nodded. Jake was a pussy. He wouldn’t come alone. He’d bring his friends, his brother, and his brother’s friends.

But I would only go after him.

I would break his fucking face.

“Hey Shame!” Addie said brightly as she sat next to me and kissed me. I grinned. “Hey Adalyn.” I kissed her deeply, trying to get back in make out mode. Maybe we could slip into an empty classroom.

She kissed back but didn’t go any farther because Jay cleared his throat loudly. “Trying to eat,” he said sarcastically. I flipped him off. “I don’t take offers,” he said. I laughed. “What a lie.”

He waggled his eyebrows. I took a bite of the school’s pizza and forced it down. “Jesus Seamus, you look like Addie when she’s trying to swallow you.” I chucked my milk at Clifton.

Addie laughed. “You guys are so dirty minded!” God she was hot. I forced myself to stop eye fucking her.

Alex walked into the lunchroom with Jake. Jeez, and I thought I was an attention whore. She was obviously trying to make me jealous.

It was working.
