"No, I'm not dressing Southern. No, I still have a social life. And no, I'm not planning on suicide. It's actually not that terrible here," I said into my phone as I tried to fix my closet. Melissa had called me, asking a million questions at once and talking a mile a minute like she always did.

"Really?" Melissa asked in disbelief from the other side of the phone, "I figured it would be pure torture."

"Well, it's not. Except there's this one guy who's just... Unbelievably annoying," I said, rolling my eyes as I thought about Luke.

"Woah, guy? You didn't mention any guys being there!" She exclaimed.

"Because I knew you'd freak and practically shoot over here to meet them," I said flatly.

"Well, I should! And I hate you for not telling me! Are they hot!?" She asked.

"I thought you had Mark," I said, my eyes narrowing as I threw a ruffled black top onto my bed.

"He and I broke up a few days ago. I just wasn't feeling it anymore," She explained.

"And you didn't tell me?" I said, gasping mockingly.

"I did, like twenty times! But who knows what you were doing then?" She said, scoffing.

"That's because I was with Jacob," I defended before I could stop myself. I smacked my hand over my mouth as I realized what I had said. Oh, no... Why am I such a big mouth!?

"Jacob? As in a boy? As in a boy who isn't Aiden!? Tell me everything! Is he hot? What is he like? Friends? Personality? Looks? I need to know everything!" She said.

"Woah! Relax a bit," I said, "I can barely understand what you're saying. And don't make it sound so... Wrong. Jacob's no one."

"If Jacob was no one, you wouldn't have said his name so happily," She said flatly.

"We're talking through the phone. How can you even tell that?" I said, facepalming.

"AHA! So it is true! Tell me! Who's Jacob?" She said.

I sighed. "He's my childhood best friend, okay?"

"How old?" She asked, sounding like she was a detective interrogating a criminal.

"Sixteen, same as us," I answered, surveying a very cute red dress I had found in my bag. Yes, I was still unpacking. I brought a lot of stuff, okay?

"What's he like?"

"Well... He's really funny and sweet, someone I can talk to about anything, and... And he's pretty much an all-around amazing guy."

"Oh my god... You called someone other than yourself amazing! I'm almost moved to tears!"
