After Chorong stepped out of the room to talk to Victoria, Namjoo pulled Luhan into the living room and turned so that she could keep her eye on the ghost who was still seated.

"The other day, when I got knocked down the stairs, you helped me. That was you, wasn't it?"

He looked at her for a long time as if he didn't want to answer, but he smiled and nodded. "Yea, that was me."

She felt a smile climb onto her face, "Thanks." She bit her lower lip before asking, "I'm just curious, is there a reason why I can see you, but my sisters can't see their guardian angels?"

He lowered his stare as if to dodge her question and he was successful at it when her phone began ringing. When she pulled her phone out of her pocket and saw that it was Chanyeol calling, she turned back to look at Luhan but he was already gone. Namjoo still couldn't grasp the reason behind why he came and left just like that.

She hesitated and saw that Chorong was finally back in the sitting room with the ghost before turning away to answer the call.

"You free to have lunch with me?" Chanyeol questioned.

"I can't right now."

"Dinner then?" he still sounded hopeful.

"I can't do that either."

There was a brief pause before he said, "Are you still trying to avoid me? I thought we were done with that."

"You don't really believe we're friends with benefits, do you?" Namjoo asked literally stupefied.

"You don't have to be so distant," he told, "breakfast tomorrow, I'll pick you up."

Chanyeol immediately hung up leaving her speechless before she walked back into the sitting room.

"So," Chorong turned to Namjoo with sarcastically huge eyes, "we're the so-called 'Protectors.'"

"I heard you came by for your mom's file," Changmin handed her the I.D. she'd left behind.

Victoria eyed it before taking it from him. "Thank you."

She turned around with no more to say, but his voice stopped her. "If you really want to find out more about what happened, you don't really think you can do it alone, do you?"

"And what makes you think you have the right to nose into my business?" Victoria turned around to look at him.

They were the only two in the shop since Hyerin had gone into the inventory room to fill out her tax forms.

"Because you're stepping into a jurisdiction a simple civilian like you shouldn't."

"Trust me," Victoria said, "I'm not just a simple civilian."

He slightly narrowed his eyes at her then crossed his arms. "Let me put it this way then, the night you and your sisters were up at the crest hill, you said something about your mother's murder. It clearly states in the report that it was suicide. Upon hearing you declare it as an unjustified murder makes me curious about why you would believe that when reports say otherwise. So, if you want to reopen the case, don't you think you'll need a little help?"

Victoria slightly gritted her teeth together. What exactly was it that he wanted?

"Yes, there's a story, a legend actually, that says there are three protectors sent onto Earth. They're meant to protect and do good. I really had no idea that the three protectors are sisters," Son Joo was amazed, "I saw a really strong sparkle in this house and that's when I knew I had to come for help, because I knew you would help me. That's why you're the Protectors."
