Chapter 1 {Last Day Of School}

Phoenix's POV

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

"Phoenix, your alarm clock is going off, which means it's time to get up!" Yells my dad from outside my door. I hear creaking from my door, I opened my eyes, and my little sister is in front of me. "What do you want Avery?" I asked as I rubbed my eyes, "Daddy says to get up!" I lean up and turn to look at my six year old sister, "What are you, his little watch dog?" I say as move the blankets away from my body, "No, but if you don't get up, I'm telling daddy you said that!"
I look at Avery annoyed and breath, "Fine, but get out of my room you little twirp!" I yell as I get out of my bed, then I push Avery out of my room and shut the door. I sigh, and go to my closet to pick something out to wear. I pick a cute floral tang top and some cute skinny jeans. After that I head to my bathroom to take a shower.

After my shower I get dressed, then I plug in my flat iron and wait for it to heat up. While I wait for my flat iron, I apply a little bit of mascara and lip gloss, and a bit of some cover up. Finally, once my flat iron is heated, I flat iron my shoulder length hair. "Knock knock." Says my 'oh so amazing stepmom!' Note my sarcasm. I put my flat iron on the counter, and open up the door. "Yes Jane?" I ask while my hand is on my hip, "Oh, I just wanted to know if I could drive you to school today?" She says trying the absolute best that she can to smile, "Ummmm, no thanks Jane it's the last day of school so I want to go with my friends." Her 'kind of a smile' turned into a frown and she says, "Oh, okay Phoenix, have a good day." she waves and leaves my room. "You too!" I yell as I close my bathroom door. She's SO annoying just like Avery I think to myself, as I continue to flat iron my hair. Once I'm done, I put a cute floral green and pink bow, that matches my top, in my hair, and open my bathroom door to enter my room. I gather all my school supplies in my backpack and strap it on my back. Then, I go through the hallway, out of my room, and go downstairs to grab a bagel.

"Morning Phoenix!" Says my dad as he takes a bit of his bacon that Jane probably made. Ew! Honk! Honk! "What was that?" Says Jane confused. "That's my ride!" I say as I grab a bagel and head out the door. "Bye!" I yell and I close the heavy door. "Hurry up Phoenix, their throwing a Starting the Summer Party afterwards and I don't want to be late!" Yells my friend Emily Jean. I always thought Emily was drop dead gorgeous. She had perfect Bob short hair, perfect blue eyes, and a perfect smile. No wonder she's dated more than 6 guys. "So Phoenix, You and Sam huh?" Says my other friend Olivia Marx. Olivia was very pretty too, she was Filipino and had really pretty curly hair, she has the best brown eyes ever! And then there's average me. I only had black hair and dark brown eyes. Nothing extraordinary like Olivia and Emily.

"No way Liv!" I say as I stick my nose up in the air, "He doesn't even like me like that, we're just friends that's all!" Olivia snickers, "Sure Phoenix, sure;)" Emily jumps in the conversation and says, "So, Say if he does, what would you do if he asks you to the Starting the Summer Party?" I mentally Facepalm, "He wouldn't because we've been friends since we were in diapers! Duh," Olivia looks at me annoyed, "Seriously Phoenix?!" Emily laughs and says, "Come on Liv, give her a break, besides we're here and we've got to hurry before Mrs 'you know who' gives us a tarty!" We all laugh and hurry up to the entrance of our school.
