Chapter Three

After finally learning how to use the phone, I played some car racing game. It's been two hours and we're almost there. Since that interaction about the phone, Thane hasn't spoken a word since. He stayed silent and kept his watch on the road with an occasional glance towards me. The only thing that kept our silence not so silent was the soft sound of the radio, playing sucky mainstream songs.

So with around a half an hour left to spare I decided to annoy the crap out of Alpha Silent, oops I mean Thane.

I turned and faced him, he silently...cue the eye roll...glanced at me and then silently...once again eye roll...looked back at the road.

I reached over and poked his cheek.

He furrowed his eyebrows but didn't glance my way.

I poked his cheek again.

Nothing....

Fates, talk about déjà vu.

Poke...poke....poke...poke...poke...poke...poke....poke....

"WHAT!!!" He exclaimed, finally looking at me.

I gave him my most innocent smile, and with a sweet and innocent voice I said "Nothing"

To say that he looked frustrated would be an understatement. But like I cared, his behaviour towards me hurt. All he did was ignore me for the whole ride excluding the ten to fifteen minutes conversation we had.

He closed his eyes for a minute, taking a deep breath before turning back and concentrating on the road once again. Must I add the silently part?

So I went through this again but this time I went under his arm and poked his rib, damn he has abs and they felt rock solid.

Before he could react I leaned over and pulled his shirt up. And starting counting his abs. He had eight! A flipping eight pack! I could feel myself swooning.

I heard someone clear their throat from above me, I looked up to see Thane looking at me with an amused face.

"What are you doing" He asked sound amused and cocky at the same time.

So this would probably be the cue for me to blush right? Wrong....I'm not one to blush so easily.

So me being...well me, I responded in the most casual way.

"Counting your abs duh" I stated like it was the most obvious thing in the world. I looked up at him and he looked shocked at my response, huh take that Alpha Silent.

I lean back and sat back in my seat and looked out my window as if nothing happened. I heard Thane clear his throat, when I looked at him he had a smirk on his face. Wow that's the closest I've seen him smile.

"So you liked what you saw?" He asked all cocky like.

"Eight pack not bad" I muttered in a bored tone, suddenly not in the mood to talk to him. I mean he did ignore me nearly throughout our whole trip.

From the corner of my eye I saw his face fall a little. He silently...*cough* expected *cough*... shook his head and turned back to driving. He had a slight look of hurt; know how I feel now buddy?

Anyways that's how the rest of the ride was, after around ten more minutes we finally reached our destination. Now that I think of it, I have no idea where we were going.

"What pack are you the Alpha of?" I asked Thane as he pulls up to an enormous house and parks the car, must be the pack house.

"Blackwood Pack" I made a sound of acknowledgment. He looked at me expectantly, as if he were expecting a reaction of some sort.

"What"

"Have you heard of this pack before" I could hear the message behind his words, his pack was famous in some way and he was expecting an ohh or an ahhh.

"Sorry, remember I'm from the orphanage. Meaning I was only allowed out once a week. Not really keeping up here."

A look of understanding washed over his face.

"Oh right, The Blackwood Pack is known for its cruelty, I was kind of expecting you to be shaking in fear." He replied as he scratched the back of his neck.

He looked adorable I don't know how his pack could be cruel with him as the Alpha. Well maybe a little since he's so silent and such.

"I don't believe you. With you as an Alpha, this pack would be anything but cruel" I said, throwing in an un-lady like snort at the end.

"What do you mean?" He asked. I could tell his man pride was hurt.

"Well, firstly you look anything but dangerous. More like a harmless puppy. It's adorable." This caused him to scowl. "The whole silent thing does give off an intimidating kind of look" I said playing him. I saw him smirk and knew I had him where I wanted. "But that would probably only ten percent the other ninety percent gives off the cute, harmless, child type vibe." I said in the end. Smirking as I saw his smirk fall.

He huffed but didn't say anything. Cue the eye roll...how unexpected of him.Please note the sarcasm.

We silently...of course... walked out of the car and into the pack house. We kept walking till we reached a grand room filled with people. Looks like he already called the meeting.

Before going up on the small platform, he whispered for me to stay there until he calls me up. My response? A shrug. His response? A shake of his head and a mutter which sounded close to a why did I even bother.

"Good afternoon pack members of the Blackwood Pack, thank you to all those who have made it out here in such short notice. This is a very important meeting as it is a new beginning for this pack's generation of leaders and its next."

Well what do you know, that might have been the most I have ever heard him speak, though I would say I'm surprised but In all honesty I'm not; he still talks like an old man.

"Without further or due I present to you the Luna of the Blackwood Pack."

Before he could say my name, a petite redhead made her way on stage. She had on a really tight green dress which made her hair stand out. I might say she was really pretty, maybe a little more clothes though and a little less make up.

"Umm... Ashley-" I rolled my eyes; how cliché "-you're neither my mate, nor the Luna what are you doing up here?" Thane stated, obviously confused.

Ashley walked over to him and ran her hand down Thane's chest in a 'oh so seductive' manner. I rolled my eyes as I watched them interact.

"What are you talking about baby, I am your mate. Don't you remember all the amazing times we've had?" She said, with a wink at the end.

I won't say that it didn't hurt that he didn't wait, nor will I say that I don't care either. Because you and I both know I would be lying. But I know that it was in the past and I'll try not to let it affect me.

Thane slowly took Ashley's hands off of him.

"First of all, I know you're not my mate. I don't feel a connection with you. Second of all everyone here knows I didn't and wouldn't have s_x with you. Everyone knows that I've never wasted my times in the means of desire and lust. All the other females accept it and back off. You on the other hand have no self respect."

Thane pushed a shocked Ashley to the side and signalled me over.

"And without further or due, I present to you the Luna of the Blackwood Pack, Ariel Collins."

He pulled me over and held my hand. The whole room started to cheer and clap.

And for once in my entire existence I felt wanted.
