Ashton and I were dancing along to Work by Rihanna, his hands rested on my hips as my back was against his front.
Ashton and I were pretty close, but only as friends and not anything more.
I'd never really had a boyfriend, other than Harry. After all that Harry put me through, I rejected any sort of romance that any boy would offer me.Chelsea strutted over to me, a pink cocktail in her hand.
She took a sip through her thin straw before whispering in my ear.
"Calum's arrived." Her breath fanned against my hair.
I waved it off, not really caring that he had finally arrived after being 20 minutes late. I still wasn't sure if I was going to talk to him tonight, seeing as he had told everyone that we didn't like each other.
Things would be awkward between us.I kept swaying my body in time to the music against Ash.
Ashton and I were very similar, we were both very independent and relied on ourselves rather than any significant other. Maybe that's why we were such close friends, because we just had room for each other. If I had a boyfriend, there's no way Ashton and I would be as close as we are now.
The music paused abruptly, making me turn around to view the bar, where the speakers were situated.
Calum had his finger on the pause button of the speaker, catching my gaze as I wondered what he was doing.
Turning around was a mistake, because as soon as I admired his appearance, I had become weaker. His oversized Drop Dead shirt hung loosely on his body, as his skinny jeans clutched to his legs. I had to admit, he had really good style. He dressed better than any other guy I knew.
"Does anyone have a lighter?" He asked the small crowd of us, but only looking at me.
I faintly rolled my eyes, turning back around to Ashton and ignoring what Calum had said.
Everyone shook their head, waiting for Calum to continue the music, which he soon did after no one provided him with a lighter.
Ha, how cliche. He smokes. I bet he thinks he's one of those bad boys from the movies. Ugh, how sad.
The music started playing again, and everyone began chatting amongst themselves. My mood was light until Calum gripped onto my wrist.
"Come outside with me?" He asked, a slanted smile on his face.
"Calum, I'm not coming to watch you have a fag." I furrowed my eyebrows, crossing my arms. I hated cigarettes.
"I won't smoke. Can we just talk?" He pleaded.
"I'm having fun with my friends, Calum, you should try and do the same." I suggested, uncrossing my arms and letting them flop to my sides, letting loose of Calum's grip.
Calum sighed grumpily, yanking me away from Ashton's warmth, to the corner of the room, where the couch was.
He took a seat, and I followed, but still keeping my distance.
"Make it quick. Parties are for dancing."
