The Job and Clarification

A week went by and Brooklyn and I continued to steal kisses and cuddle. I fell asleep every night in his arms I couldn't have asked for anything better.

There was something enchanting about stolen kisses in brief private moments that I had never shared with anyone else.

Our dads still didn't know we that we were- I guess you could say dating. Though Hadley had quickly picked up on it, obviously.

Work had been going really good. The record store hadn't really had any busy days or even more than five people in it at one time, but it was a good enough pace for me.

There were a few regulars, people that came in daily or once a week. They seemed surprised that Hadley had hired two teenagers, but Brooklyn and I quickly made friends with all of the costumers.

One tall girl who had beautiful blonde hair and striking blue eyes had come in. She was around my age. Her name started with an E, but I couldn't remember what it was. I had a feeling she'd be back soon, though.

On Thursday afternoon after work, Brooklyn and came in through the back door, his arm wrapped around my waist. I didn't think a thing about it until we entered the kitchen to see Ashton, Calum, and Michael standing against the countertops around the kitchen eating some pizza.

"Hey! Pizza came!" Michael hollers, clearly drunk despite it being mid-afternoon.

Ashton's eyes immediately go to the arm around my waist. I blush and nudge Brooklyn with my elbow to tell him to let go.

Instead, his grip tightens.

"You two dating or something?" Michael whisper yells, his voice much quieter than it was two seconds ago.

I pull myself out of Brooklyn's grasp and grab a slice of pizza.

"Yeah, Brooklyn, are we dating or something?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

This was the perfect opportunity to see what Brooklyn saw me as. Was I just something that reminded him of home? Did he just like my lips? Was he trying to get into my pants and make things awkward?

"Yes," Brooklyn said. "We're dating."

I couldn't help but smile at those words. I was his girlfriend, I guess?

But my happiness was quickly replaced with shock. My dad walked in just in time hear that statement and see Brooklyn take my pizza from my hand and take a bite.

Short chapter, I know. 😁

But, I wanted to update because I'm at 199 reads and 200 would make my chaotic week better. (:

I'll try and update again in this next week.

Love you all! 💙 Thanks for reading!
