~Patrick~
I followed him out of the bathroom. "You want to skip the lunch room and hang out in the court yard?" He asked. "Can you give me a tour of the school. This is my first day" I said. He gave me a tour of the school. It was three stories tall. "It's like a prison" I said. "Just wait till we get outside" he said. "Outside?" I asked. He pulled me into a storage closet. There was a ladder on the wall. He started climbing up it. I was hesitant. "You coming up?" He asked. I started climbing as well. My eyes were met with the harsh sunlight from outside. There was not really much on top of the school. Except you know, the amazing view. "Wow Pete. This is amazing!" I said. "Right?" He said taking a seat. I sat down next to him. He put his hand on top of mine. It made me blush. "I want to take you on a date. A real one. To dinner and a movie" he said. "Pete, were sophomores. How are you going to get that past your parents?" I asked. "Yeah. I guess your right" he said. "They can't be that strict. Can they?" I asked. "I have church group today after school. My mom said, and I quote, "God gave you two legs for a reason Peter" when I asked her if she could drive me to school." He said. "Wait, your name is Peter?" I asked. He looked down in embarrassment. "Please never call me that. Like ever again" he said. I laughed. "Come on Peter. Why not?" I asked. "Because it's what my mom calls me. And I don't want to associate anyone with my mom." He said. "Ok Pete. But, you have to keep that promise on your date" I said. "We could just hang out after school" he said. "You just said you had church group" I said. "My mom will let me skip if I just say there's a new kid." He said. I laughed. "Ok then." I said. We stayed up on the roof until it was almost time for our next class. Back on the third story he gave me a kiss on the forehead before we went back to class.

The last bell had rung and I made my way outside to look for Pete. I saw him with a group of people. "Hey Pete" I said walking up. They all looked to me. "Hey 'trick" he said. All his friends kept glancing between us. "Who's he?" Asked one of his friends that had red hair. "No offense, but were a pretty tight knit group, and the only time I would expect someone to join is when my brother starts going to this school" said the red haired boy. "G this is Patrick. 'Trick this is Gerard" said Pete. "Where are my manners?" Said Gerard taking a curtsy. Dam he was sassy. "These two love birds are Brendon and Ryan" said Gerard suggesting to the the two boys hanging off each other. "These nerds are Ray and frank" he said pointing to the two boys. They were polar opposites. One had a huge mop of curly hair, and the other had a black and red Mohawk. "That single Pringle is spencer" he said pointing to a boy who looked like the most normal out of them all. "And I'm guessing you already know Pete" said Gerard. "Thank you for the introductions, but I should be the one to introduce him to you." Said Pete. "Hi, guys" I said. "Nice to meet you" said Brendon shaking my hand. After an awkwardly long handshake, they went back to doing their friend thing. "Hey Pete, who's house are we going to?" I asked. "Oh, you two like best buds?" Asked Frank. Pete glanced at me. "He's new, and I thought I'd show him some people who won't dunk his head in a toilet" said Pete. "Well, bring him to the party of Friday." Said Ryan. "Party?" Said Brendon. "Well, if your leaving, we have to have a goodbye party" said Ryan. They started making plans for the party on Friday. "Hey, do you want to go. Before we get pulled into a party for tonight?" Pete asked me. I nodded my head. We started walking away from the group. We left the gates the bordered the school. "Sorry about them. Brendon just got back in town, and he's not staying for long, so they all just want to make sure he has a good time." He said. "If you want to spend time with him I don't mind" I said. "I'm not really in the party mood. Don't get me wrong, come Friday I will be turning up, but today, I want to get to know who Patrick Stump is." He said. "My house is right down this street" I said pointing down Arbor Drive. "Then let's go to your house. Your parents will be ok with that?" He asked. "Trust me. My mom will be astatic that I talked to someone willingly. Let alone make a real friend, or even have them come over" I said. He clipped his fingers around mine. "They won't be that excited, will they?" He asked. "I've never had a friend." I said. He stopped dead in his tracks. "That's impossible" he said. "No. It is. Your the first real friend I've ever made." I said. We continued walking. We finally got to my front door. "Right here" I said letting go of his hand and running up the stairs.

~Pete~
He opened the door. His mom was no where to be seen. "Mom! I'm home!" He yelled out. "I'm in the kitchen sweetest!" She yelled back. I followed him around the back of the staircase to where the kitchen was. His mom instantly drowned him in a hug. "How was your day sweetest?" She asked. "My day was fine mom" he said pushing her off his body. "And who's this?" She asked referring to me. "Mom this is Pete. We're friends." He said. Her face lit up with joy. She almost started crying. "Sweetest, can you go get your father. He's in the shed. Pete, you stay here." She said. Patrick ran out the back door. "Thank you so much Pete. Patrick has never brought a friend home. I don't want to get too gushy, but you are welcome here anytime. Patrick's a special kid, and I'm so glad you're friends with him" she said pulling me into a hug. Patrick walked back in and saw me engulfed in his moms hug. 'Help me' I mouthed. He laughed. "Come on Pete. I'll show you my room" he said pulling me away from his mom and up the stairs. When we got to his room we were both giggling messes. We stumbled over some stuff on the ground and I fell on top of him. We stared into each other's eyes for a bit before I closed the ever so small gap between our lips. He kissed back. Soon his hands we on my lower back, memorizing the way it felt with his fingertips. I put my hands in his hair, slightly tugging at it. "Wait" he said taking his hands away from me. "Is this really happening?" He asked. "Yeah. I'm pretty sure it is. Unless you don't want it to." I said. "No. I want it to" he said pulling my face back in for another kiss. We were laying on the floor, and I could tell he was getting a bit uncomfortable. "Do you want to move to the bed?" He asked me. "Mhm" I said getting off him and helping him up as well. I saw his clock. It was already 4. "Do you think I could call my mom. Tell her I'm not going to make it to church group." I asked. "Yeah. Just ask my mom downstairs to use the landline" he said. I made my way down stairs back to the kitchen. "Hi, do you think I can use your phone to call my mom?" I said. There was a man standing in the kitchen. "Sure. Landline is over there" he said pointing to the wall. I typed in my moms number and waited for her to pick up. "Hello?" She said. "Hi mom. It's Pete" I said. "Peter! Oh my gosh! Why aren't you home yet! You have church group!" She said. "There was a new kid at school, and he asked me if I wanted to hang out after school" I said. "Oh Peter. You're such a good kid. Do you think they would let you spend the night?" She asked. "Why?" I asked back. "Your father and I have an important charity tonight. I was going to bring you along, but since you seem to be having so much fun with your new friend, you can stay there" she said. "I'll ask. If I can't, what time do you want me home?" I said. "As soon as possible" she said hanging up the phone. I turned around back to the dad. "I know this is really random, but my mom was wondering if I could spend the night?" I asked. "If Patrick is cool with it" he said. "Ok." I said making my way back up the stairs. I made it back to Patrick's room. "What your mom say?" He said sitting up on his bed. "I either come home now, or spend the night" I said. "I mean, if you want to" he said scooting over so I had room to sit down. I sat down next to him. "Only if you want me to stay." I said leaning my head on his shoulder. "I mean, we could watch a movie" he said. "Yeah. Let's do that." I said. We put a movie into his DVD player and changed. "Can I borrow a set of pajamas? I only have my uniform" I said. He threw a tee-shirt and sweat pants at me. I quickly changed, and laid down in his bed with him. We talked for a while before actually turning the movie on. It was almost 6:30. He finally pushed play. He started laying closer to me as time went on. Soon he was laying his head on my chest. I put my arm over him and slowly drifted off to sleep.

~Patrick's mom~
"Patrick's friend is spending the night" said David. "Oh. I'll go get them for dinner." I said. I walked up the stairs and saw Patrick's room door was slightly open. They had a movie playing. I opened the door a bit more and stepped inside. I saw Pete in Patrick's bed, but where was Patrick? I stepped closer to see Patrick on the other side of Pete. His arms wrapped around him. I paused the movie so they could sleep in peace. They also looked cold, so I pulled the blanket up over them. Patrick snuggled closer into Pete. Patrick looked so happy. They both looked so happy. I didn't want to scare Patrick, so I wasn't going to bring it up. I wanted him to be the one to bring it up. I tried to exit the room as quietly as I could so I wouldn't wake them up, closing the door behind me.
