I was sitting outside with my jacket curled around my arms. Pete got held back in class and I was waiting for him on the roof. We hung out some days in the court yard with the group, but others we spent on the roof. It was a bit windy, but then I saw the door open that lead to the roof. "I got something for you" said Pete walking up to me with his hands behind his back. "Is it a blanket? It's so cold today" I said rubbing my hands together. He sat down next to me. "No, but I do have this" he said handing me a box. It was brown, and a bit tattered. I lifted the lid to see a bow tie with 'homecoming?' Written on it. I laughed slightly. I looked over to Pete to see him smiling. "So, what do you say?" He asked. I messed up his hair. "Do you want to get outed?" I asked. "No, but, we can go as 'friends'   And it'll give me an excuse to take you to a restaurant for a real date." He said. I smiled. The idea of going on a real date. Not a movie in one of our locked bedrooms. "I mean, yeah. I'd like to" I said. "Wait, was that a yes? Did you, Patrick Stump, just agree to go with me, Pete Wentz, to homecoming? This is the best day of my life" he said standing up and jumping up and down. "What did you think I was going to say?" I asked standing up with him. He didn't respond. He just kissed me. "Sorry, I shouldn't have done that" he said. He started turning away, but I caught his waist and pulled him close to me. "You never have to apologize for kissing me" I said before I kissed him once again. "Are we really going to homecoming?" He asked. "Yes. I'm going with you to homecoming" I said. I don't know why he was so surprised. Maybe he thought I would be too afraid to go with him and say no. We were hugging. He was holding me tight. Like he was going to lose me.

The last bell had rang, and I was hanging out with the group. "I'm gonna go talk to vice principal about changing my schedule" said Ryan walking away. "So, did you hear the plan?" Asked Mikey. "No." I said. "Brendon is flying back for homecoming, Ryan doesn't know. It's a surprise" said Gerard. "What is the plan for homecoming?" Asked Frank. "Maybe we could all go as a group. So it doesn't look, you know, so coupley." Said Ray. "All of our parents would kill us if they saw us together." Said Spencer. "Not 'Trick's" said Pete. Everyone looked at me. "We could meet up at my house. I'll run it by my folks. They won't mind" I said. "None of us really have the best reputations. I doubt your parents would want us over if they're anything like Pete's" said Gerard. "I'm pretty sure they'll be cool with it. My parents are cool with almost anything. They just want me to be happy" I said. "So, what I miss?" Asked Ryan walking up. "Meeting at Patrick's for homecoming. We're all going as a group" said Spencer. "Won't Patrick's parents be pissed?" He asked. "His parents don't care. They straight up don't give a fuck." Said Mikey. "Sweet" said Ryan. Then Petes phone went off. "Who is it?" I asked. "Your mom" he said. I snatched the phone out of his hand. It was indeed, my mother. "Hey mom" I said. "We really need to get you a cellphone sweetest" she said. "Yeah, what's up?" I asked. "I'm coming to pick you up. I know you like to hang out with your friends, but, well. You'll find out" she said. "Mom. What's going on?" I asked. "Don't freak out" she said. "Mom. What's going on?" I asked in a stern voice. Everyone looked to me. Pete genuinely looked concerned. "You may, or may not, have a doctors appointment" he said. "What!" I said. It slightly startled Pete. "Don't worry, there not going to do any-" I cut her off. "There's needles. You would have told me if there wasn't needles." I said. "Don't be mad." She said. I didn't respond. I just ended the call. "Needles. I feel you" said Gerard. "I can't do it. I can't" I said. I started walking away. I didn't want to make a scene. Pete followed me. "You ok?" He asked. "No. I don't do needles" I said. "Do you want me to come with you?" He asked. "I wish. But, I don't want to make you late getting home" I said. He pulled me into a hug. I was slightly shaking. "I'm coming with you. I don't know how my parents will react, but I know you need this. And I want to be there for you" he said. I slightly pulled away, afraid of someone seeing us. "Ok" I said wiping away a couple tears. I saw my moms car in the parking lot. "You'll be fine." He said helping me to the car.
