~Patrick~
I stumbled to school on Monday. My coordination was still a bit off. I tripped a few times. It took so much persuading for my mom to let me walk to school. I was still freezing all the time. Shivering as I walked up to the group. It was a warmer day, but I had my jacket buttoned and a scarf on. "How are going make it through the winter? You look like you're shaking out of your skin" said Spencer. "I'm still a bit sick. They said I should stop being as cold in the next few weeks." I said. "Who said?" He asked. "The doctor" I said. "What happened? You were fine on Friday, well other than the doctor thing." He said. "Let's just say, things didn't end well, and I ended up in the hospital" I said. "Well, it's like 70°. And you look like there's a foot of snow out. Maybe you should go home. Set the thermostat to 98°. Sleep, eat hot soup. Not be standing in the rain with us." He said. Soon Pete was walking up. "Why are you here 'Trick? Especially out in the rain. How did you convince your parents?" He asked taking off his jacket and giving it to me. I tried to refuse it, but he put it over my arms. I put it over my jacket. I looked a bit ridiculous, but I was warmer. "I told them I was fine. Also, neither of them could take the day off. So I'm better off at school. If I get bad, I can still go home" I said trying to cross my arms. "Well if you start feeling any worse you need to go home. Like right away. I'll be the one to call your mom." I said. "Got it" I said. Soon the bell rang. We all made our way towards the building. We weren't even ten minutes into math when Pete got called into the office. "You're not in trouble Pete, they just need to talk to you" said Mr. Badbin. Pete left the room. It was Monday, and we were all exchanging stories with the class about the weekend. I didn't normally particularly like this part of class, so I sat in the back trying to ignore it all. "Ok guys. Let's play a game" said Mr. Badbin. "Get into groups of three" he said. Pete hadn't gotten back yet, so I was in a group with a tall red head girl and an even taller senior. "Ok. Everyone in their groups?" Asked Mr. Badbin. On Mondays he always did team building games. They normally didn't have much math involved. Everyone groaned a yes. "Now, we're going to play a game. The winning team will get candy. Multiple teams can win, but not every team. Your team must give me four school jackets. I do not care where the fourth jacket comes from. You have twenty minutes. I'll see who has enough jackets at the end. Go" He said. "Ok. We have three jackets. Who's going to give us a fourth?" Asked the red head. "We could be the nice group and give three other teams our jackets" said the senior. "We already have four jackets" I said. They looked at me. I had never spoke with them before. "There's only three of us" she said. "But I'm wearing two" I said taking off Petes jacket, than my own. They looked at me in disbelief. "What's your name? I don't think I've ever met you" said the senior. "Patrick. I'm new this year. I'm a sophomore" I said shaking his hand. "Mark. This is my sister Madi. We're twins" he said. "Hi." I said crossing my arms, trying to warm up. "You should come sit with us at lunch. Seem like a nice kid. Who are your parents?" Asked Madi. "I already have a few friends. Plus, my parents aren't anyone important. My dad sells windows to rich people, and my mom is an assistant for a CEO" I said. "Wow. Then what are you doing here?" She asked. "My parents wanted me to switch schools. I had some bullies, and I wanted a fresh start." I said. "So, who are you friends with?" Asked mark. Pete was walking back into class. He walked up next to me. "What I miss?" He asked. "Pete" said Madi rolling her eyes. "Madi. Mark. You know, just because our parents hate each other, doesn't mean we have to" said Pete. "We were just inviting pat here to lunch." Said mark. "Yeah, no one calls me that. And no one should ever call me that." I said. "Whatever. You're eating lunch with us, right Patrick?" Said Madi. "I already have plans for lunch." I said. "What? Royals aren't that bad. We're just like everyone else" said Mark. "Unless you smoke cigarettes with them behind the school?" Said Mark pretending like Pete wasn't here. "They're my friends." I said. "Hey, no hard feelings. Cool?" Said Madi. "Cool" I said giving her a high five. "What happened to your jackets 'Trick? Did you finally warm up?" Asked Pete. "No. But we need our jackets for the game." I said. It was a long 20 minutes. But soon it was over. "Ok. Does anyone have four jackets?" Asked Mr. Badbin. We were the only group to raise their hand. "And how did you accomplish that?" He asked. "Patrick was wearing two jackets" said Madi. "Not the purpose of the game, but you won." He said handing us all a chocolate bar each. "You're shaking. You should put the jackets back on" said Pete already slipping them onto my arms. I wasn't completely warm, but it was better than nothing. "What was the game for anyway?" Asked Madi. The bell rang, and Mr. Badbin never told us. Probably never will. We made our way to our next class. School was so boring. But, it was better than drama I guess. The school was so divided that drama never broke out between different groups practically. It only broke out within its self. So, you never really had to deal with it. That was until, of course, what was soon to be called, 'the Fall Out Boy' incident.
