We set off, in the rocket, back to Pandora. To open a vault. It would be the second vault I'd opened- the first one containing the Warrior, you know, the one where Jack died. But it was cool, he was here now. I was still amazed by that. Thank god for science.
Right now, Jack was asleep. Unusual as it may sound, that wasn't rare for him. You'd have thought that he'd been buzzing for this mission- and he was, he just liked to have a nap sometimes before. Also, we hadn't got much sleep last night. Fiona was manning the spaceship, and Sasha was enjoying the view from the back of the ship. I went over to join her.
"How's it feel now Jack's back, huh?" She asked. I grinned.
"Pretty good." I paused. "Look, I know you're slightly annoyed at him for destroying Pandora-"
"Slightly?!"
"Yeah, okay, you're really annoyed at him for that, but he's changed, now. And I'm here, I can control him. Well, influence him. He listens to me." Sasha sighed, looking out of the window. "I won't let him to anything bad," I spoke, "I promise."
"Okay, I trust you." She replied, smiling at me.
"Thanks."
We silently observed Helios, enjoying each others company.
"You know," I spoke quietly, "you were right."
"About what?" She asked, before I hushed her. I didn't want anyone else to hear. "About what?" She asked again, quieter this time.
"About... Rhys having... a thing for me. I didn't believe you at the time, but you were right."
"Knew it." She replied smugly, crossing her arms. "How'd you find out?"
"He told me."
"Ooh."
"I know. After Jack had come back as well."
"Ah Rue, that's-"
"I know. It's awkward. We haven't really had a proper chance to talk about it yet. I was going to soon, but..."
"Do you want me to have a word?"
"Nah. He'd probably be embarrassed that I told you. I might go and talk to him now whilst Jack's asleep, actually."
"Okay, good luck," Sasha replied, going to sit down. I gestured at Rhys to come over and join me.
"Okay, look-" He started to say when I stopped him.
"Rhys. I'm flattered, I am. You're a really nice guy, and you've been a good friend to me. If Jack wasn't around, and I was over him, then maybe. But he's here. And I love him, and I'm with him. If you're cool with it, I still want to be your friend. We make a good team."
"I still want to be friends," Rhys spoke, "And thanks... for being so chill about it. You could've flipped, and told Jack and then I wouldn't be here. So thanks for that. You've been a good friend to me too, Rue. And yeah, we do make a good team." He paused. "I think I've found a way to get over you." He turned around, scanning the interior of the ship.
"What?" I asked, curious.
"I kinda like someone else as well..."
"No way!" I squealed, before Rhys put his hand over my mouth.
"Shut up!" He hissed.
"Sorry sorry sorry, that's just really exciting! Who is it?"
"It's, erm-"
"You alright there, pumpkin?" Jack had woken up, and stopped Rhys just before he was about to tell me. I walked, well floated, over to him, since zero gravity was in effect.
