I smiled into our kiss. I cherished every single one now. Ever since Jack came back, I've realised not to take him for granted anymore. And, from now on, no more fights! I don't want to waste our time fighting anymore. Fiona and Rhys re-entered whilst our lips were still connected.

"Oh for goodness..." Rhys started to say, rolling his eyes.

"Rue!" Fiona squealed, running over. I broke the kiss with Jack and gave her a tight hug. "Don't ever do that again, okay?"

"I won't Fiona, I promise," I gasped. She was squeezing me very tight. "It's nice to see you too, but please, you're squeezing the life out of me."

"Sorry!" She exclaimed, dropping me from the hug. "It's just really great to see you alive!" I grinned. It was great to be with my friends- and my boyfriend- inside this vault. A frickin' vault! I still couldn't get over that.

"So..." I started to say, looking over to the vault. I was so desperate to open it, to see what was inside. We'd come this far, after all. They all followed my gaze.

"Wait-" Jack suddenly spoke, reaching out to grab my hand.

"What is it?" I turned around to face him. He looked at Fiona.

"Okay, I'm gonna say something now, and it's gonna be hard, 'cos I don't usually say stuff like this, but... I'm sorry."

"For what?" She asked skeptically.

"I'm sorry for what I did to your planet. And to everyone on it." He sighed, smiling, glancing at me. "I wouldn't normally say this, but I now know that... that what I did can be seen as wrong. I was trying to help, but... Huh, I was pretty shit at it. But now we're here, at the vault, all together, and I wanted to say something. You know, it feels weird admitting this. I couldn't have done it without her." He turned to look at me for that last past. I grinned at him. Wow. Jack actually apologised. I was surprised. And glad, I was glad. So I guess I'd had a good influence on him.

I looked over at him, smiling. I was actually pretty proud of him. He really wasn't the apologising type, so I knew this was hard for him. 'Thank you' I mouthed at him. He smiled back.

"It's... okay," Fiona replied slowly, "thank you for apologising. I get that it must be difficult for you."

"Awesome!" Rhys exclaimed suddenly. "Let's open the vault, huh?"

"Yes!" I replied, grinning. I was so excited- this was going to be awesome! Fiona, Rhys and I started to run over, when Jack grabbed my arm, pulling me back.

"You alright?" I asked him, looking concerned.

"I-" He started to say, then stopped. My face softened as I walked over to him, taking both of his hands in mine.

"It's okay, you know." I spoke softly.

"It's just that... so much has happened lately and it's made me come to realise that I don't appreciate you as much as I should do."

"What?" I was confused. "Jack, you appreciate me all the time. You always tell me you love me-"

"Exactly!" Jack exclaimed, interrupting me. "I always tell you I love you- so it doesn't mean so much anymore." He leant his forehead against mine, sighing.

"Trust me, it still does."

"What did I do to deserve someone like you?"

"Well, you killed a lot of people," I grinned.

"Yeah, that was pretty fun," he grinned back.

"Hey, Lovebirds!" We both looked up to see Fiona and Rhys standing by the vault. It was Fiona who had shouted. "We gonna open this thing or what?" I looked at Jack.

"Come on," I spoke, letting go of one of his hands and dragging him by the other, "let's go open a vault."

"Rue." I turned around.

"Again?"

"I- I really do love you, you know."

"I know. I really do love you too, silly. Now please can we go and open this vault?" He chuckled at my eagerness.

"Lead the way."

We climbed the rocky steps up to the top of the vault, where we met Fiona and Rhys.

"Hey." I spoke.

"Hey." They replied.

"You wanna do this?"Jack asked, looking at all of us.

"Well, we've come this far," Rhys grinned.

We all put our hands on the lid of the vault.

"You ready?" Jack asked me, grinning.

"Always."

We all carefully pushed the lid of the vault, which opened to reveal a blinding glow.

Then, we were gone.

THE END.

[Yup, so that's it, folks! Rue is finally finished, and it marks the first completed story I've ever written on Wattpad. And sorry that this last chapter is so short, this is how I wanted to end the book, and it seemed like a good place to stop.

So, now it's done, onto new things. First: THERE IS A SEQUEL. There is still more of Rue to come! Well, it's more of a pre-sequel. It's about how Rue met Jack. I've already got the first 2 chapters written, so it should be up soon. And second: I will be most likely editing/sort of re-writing this book in the (hopefully near) future. Just to smooth over errors and edits, and change a couple of things, since I'm not happy with some of it.

And thank you, for voting, commenting, even reading. It really means a lot to know that there's people out there who actually read my work, and hopefully enjoy it.

So anyway, thank you, and goodnight.]
