Hello Miss Desir. I heard a voice say from behind me.

I turn around to see Elliot standing there sipping from a glass of champagne. Oh,hey...thanks for inviting me. I said to him wiping some crums from my lips with a napkin.

Please it was my pleasu- Girl this food is amazing I got to make me a to go plate. Bethany walked over saying cutting Elliot off completely unaware .

I assume this is your plus one? Elliot said to me nodding his head in Bethany's direction.

Omg where are my manners?Mr Sworton,hello...let me just say that it is so nice to see people give back and you Mr S are a true giver-backer ! Bethany said while looking very nervous.

Ummm haha isn't she funny. I said stepping in. No...no I understand what she's trying to say Marlo. And thank you Bethany I try.We'll I'll be over here...See ya later Elliot. Bethany said with a wink and walked away.

I'm so sorry. I said with my head held down. Haha well that is my name. Elliot said to me while laughing. Thank you so much Elliot...for this opportunity,I really appricate it but I can't accept Two thousand dollars for it. I mean was it a mista- I was cut off.

Listen Marlo I want you to keep it infact I should be the one thanking you,I mean with this food I'm sure to have people talking about it which means more people will come next time which means more money and more money means more people I'm helping. Listen Marlo...can I see you anytime after tonight? You mean... like... a date? I didn't say date did you hear me mention a date? He asked me while giving me a wink which was confusing me.

Of course not It can't be a date,pssshh. I let out a nervous chuckle.I couldn't read the expression on his face,he just took a pull of his cigar and swirled his wine around in his glass.

Soooo...what the hell were y'all talking about for fourteen minutes? Bethany said pulling me to the side. Ah he was just thanking me for the wonderful job that I did with the food. He said it was delicious. I said hoping I would convince her.

Anyways he wants to see me again. Ohhh somebody's got the boys for Mr Sworton or should I say "Elliot" Bethany said while making a goofy face.

Don't be silly he said it wasn't a date. He did? Well why the hell does he wanna see you again,so you can cook his ass a hot meal? Beth...get a grip it is not that serious,atleast not for me.

As the night came to an end they asked Elliot to go up and make his closing out speech.

I would like to thank everybody for coming out tonight. It has always been a pleasure of mine to help and give back to those in need.

I would like to make a toast to somebody that is so special to me...My wife Clare.

Without you babe I probably wouldn't have not gotten this far. You were always there pushing me to become better and better and for that i thank you!

Clare stands up blows a kiss at me and mouths the words "I love you"

Tonight we've raised one hundread thousand dollars. It's been a wonderful evening. Once again Thank you!

I walked off the stage. I see Marlo walking towards the front doors.

Hey are you leaving now? I asked her. Yes,thanks for the invite. Goodbye Elliot! Shit! My speech! Why did I shout Clare out? I mean...I-It's my wife what am I talking about? I let out a long sigh .

Clare comes walking up to me. She kisses me on the lips. Ohh Baby I'm soo proud of you. She said to me while holding my face. Thank you babe! Is something wrong hun? What's with you? She asked me. It's nothing I'm just tired. I lied...I really was thinking about Marlo.
