Feeling like shit the rest of the day, I laid in my bed, eating Ritz crackers and drinking tea while on Tumblr. Andrea came in to check occasionally, but around two was when she would be having gymnastics and had to leave. Just me and my foster dad, Scott.

I left my room for the second time that day, hopping down the steps, one by one, until I reached the landing and saw Scott's silhouette sitting on the couch. I crept quietly passed him, grabbed a new sleeve of crackers, and almost made it back up the stairs before he said, "Xan, hey sweetie!"

He turned to look at me, his shiny green eyes gleaming in the TV's light. "Wanna sit down? It's a new football game! Perth Glory versus Chicago Fire."

"Ooh!" I had to admit, I love British football. It was fun to watch, especially the fights and fouls. I plopped down next to him, and he put his arm around my shoulder.

"I'm sad that we will have to let you go soon, Xan." Scott told me, with a twinge of sadness in his masculine voice.

"What do you mean? I'm never going to be adopted, and I know that by now." I said, looking at him. His eyes became watery.

"Andrea was hoping we would adopt you. Seems like someone beat us, however."

"Scott, I'm confused." I replied, worried and confused. Nobody has even tried to adopt me, nor ever thought about it. It was like an alien thing to me, thinking I could actually be chosen to be loved and cared for.

He looked down at me, some of his dark hair falling into his eyes and gives me, "You'll be adopted soon."

I hugged him back tightly, squeezing him as if he was all I could hold onto. Someone wanted me, a random girl that was obsessed with Fifa and Troye Sivan, and yet- someone still thought "You know, she seems decent." I was buzzing with energy the rest of the night

The next morning I was awoken by my alarm in my phone that Scott and my foster mom got me. The beeps went off, ruining my dream of living in Japan, and ruining my morning in gerneral.

Last night was a dream too; wasn't it? I knew I would never be adopted, and I dealt with that already, all those tears came out earlier in my life, when I was first put into the adoption agency and thought, who wouldn't want me?

No one.

Simple enough, and I got the clue early on.

I rolled out of bed and pulled on my old robe and some new slippers. Carefully making my way down the stairs, I ran into Andrea, sitting at the counter in the kichen, watching another Zoella video. Zoella lived in Brighton, like us.

Suddenly Andrea turned took at me, squealing.

"What? A new lipstick is out at the pharmacy?" I said sarcastically.

She shook her head, her lips pursed. "No, you spoon. ZOE IS ADOPTING A GIRL!"

I smirked at her, "And you think it's me?"

Andrea kept nodding her head, "Yeah! WHAT IF IT IS THOUGH?"

I rubbed my forehead with both hands, and walked over to the barstool next to her. Sitting down on it, I held her hand, "Your dad told me that I'm getting adopted soon."

Tears began to form in both of our eyes, "I'll miss you." She said, barely a whisper.

I nodded, "I will miss you too."

"Will it be soon?"

I shrugged, "I really don't know, Andrea. All I know is that I should start getting my posters off my walls."

She laughed, tightly holding my hand, "I will seriously miss you, Xan. You're like a sister already to me."

"Same goes for you."

I heard footsteps come down the steps, big and booming, then saw Scott's face appear in the doorway. He could probably see our tears and possible red puffy eyes, but didn't say anything about it

"Want breakfast, girls?"

We both nodded, squealing. When Scott made breakfast, he made it for a family of forty-five, not four and a big dog named Rocco.

As he made pancakes, I set the table and Andrea cooked some bacon. I wonder if my next family will be this awesome.. I thought.

Doubtful, but plausible.
