After vacation, Amethyst and Liam were at the institute arguing about God knows what. Meanwhile, Jace and Clary were sitting at home while Tiffany was fast asleep. Jace gazed at Clary and how caring and strong she was towards him. As a shadow hunter, there was no mercy, no chances. But Clary is different, Jace thought. Clary turned her head a she noticed his stare. "What?" She asked. Jace smiled ever so brightly."Nothing." He paused."Clary, thank you for giving me a second chance." Clary gazed into his eyes which were yelling I love you. "Your welcome." She said. She then leaned to give him a kiss, and Jace didn't hesitate to give into it. After a while of doing this, they finally pulled apart. Clary smiled at him and got up, letting out a long sigh. "Work time." She stressed. She and Jace got ready. After they were done , Jace picked up Tiffany and they dropped her off at Magnus's apartment. "She is in good hands." Magnus explained. When the two left. He quickly shut the door and let out a yawn. "Alec! The demon has come to spawn!" His yell almost a whine. Alec let out the loudest sigh and exiting the he bedroom, entering the kitchen to make Tiffany food. "Your lucky your cute." Meanwhile, Jace and Clary arrived at the institute. Izzy immediately gave them information about the site they were assigned to go to with Amethyst. Amethsyt listened carefully to every detail she needed to know. Barry, surprisingly, was actually listening. Before the three left, Barry gave Amethyst a kiss goodbye and then they headed out. When they arrived at the site, the building was full of gangs, bikers, vampires, and the demons they were looking for. "Okay, for things to go faster, we can split up and find them. Amethyst, you go with Clary, considering what happened last time.." Jace said, the last part he mumbled. Clary dragged her along, trying to smell the stench of demon, but she couldn't. Everyone smelt terrible. Amethyst made a face. "Are we looking for demons or my dignity?" Clary laughed. "I honestly don't know." The two finally heard the whole building go quiet. "Jace fucked up." Clary admitted. The two made way to Jace and Clary and Amethyst were shocked to see a buff man in a tight shirt and baggy pants. They then saw horns frow from his forehead. He was definitely demon. The demon then hen grabbed Jace by the neck. "Jace!" Clary cried. The demon laughed. "Your funny!" He said rather seriously. Clary pulled out her sword and stared at the demon in warning. He picked up his hand to grab Clary by the neck, but Amethyst stopped him. She held out her hands, blue mist overflowing of power, levitating his hand back to his side. "Make it stay there." She warned. The demon laughed. "Stupid warlock! Your magic is useless and pitiful!" Amethyst grew angry. He broke his hands from the shackles of her magic. The demon now released his grip from Jace's neck, replacing it to Amethyst's waist. She yelled at the pressure. Clary took out her sword and sliced the demons hand off. When she did, the hand instantly grew back. He didn't mind of the mundie, so he focused his pressure on Amethyst who used magic as a weapon. Clary went over to the corner where Jace was and nursed him to care. "Your friends?" The demon asked. Amethyst spat in his face. "Pathetic." He said. He squeezed tighter on her waist and now her neck. She yelled once more. Meanwhile, Barry and Liam were in the institute. They were eating a eating a sandwich. Liam shot a disgusted look at Barry. Barry just ate on. "Now, I know you mundane are terrible, but this sandwich is awesome!" He said. Liam's face burned red in anger. As someone opened the door, commotion came blaring in. Liam and Barry faced each other in confusion. They got up and walked out. As they did, they saw everyone out there. Izzy searching for he maps, Simon was joining her, Maryse and Robert were talking with the clave, Magnus and Alec were hunched over a locater, Tiffany in Magnus's arms, and staff everywhere. The two walked over to Izzy, who was hyperventilating. "What's happening?" Liam asked. Izzy paused her heavy breathing and returned to slowly breathing. "Jace, Clary, Amethyst.....A greater demon...captured them in a building and.." she returned to heavy breathing . Barry stopped her. "Where are they?" He asked. "South of Idres...um.. I don't know the exact locating, t-that's what we all are trying to figure out, there are like a million places." Barry scratched his head. He then smiled. "I can locate them, I just need one of their belongings and I can locate their smell." He explained. "Like a dirty dog.." Liam said. Barry turned to look him in the eye. "Kid, your life is on the line if you say one more thing about me." He said sternly. Izzy rolled her eyes and continued, ignoring what just happened." Jace has lots of stuff you can use. Come with me." She directed by he two out of the crowd of people. "Here.. It's Jace's T-shirt." Barry took it up and got a good sniff. He then made a face and threw it back. "Yep, that's fucking nasty." He said, both nodded in agreement. Barry then walked out the doors of the institute with Liam and Izzy. After a while, they finally arrived at the sight greeted by the commotion and chants of fight. The three ran in and saw a crowd of people yelling 'Fight' in unison. Barry's heart skipped a beat when he saw Amethyst in pain along with Clary and Jace. He ran to middle of the he building with Izzy and Liam following. When everyone caught his attention, he growled. Slits ripped in his cheeks, revealing daggers for teeth . He roars at all of the mundane and downworlders. They ran out, all except the demon and the 5. The demon laughed harder han before. Amethyst watched in shock. "Brandon!"he paused o laugh."I see you came late the party!" He growled. The demon let go of Amethyst and dropped her to the ground. Barry and the demon stared into each other's eyes, ready rip out each other's heart. They then charged at each other. They fought for a good while. Jace , Clary and Amethyst watched. They couldn't go back to the institute without Barry, but, as the demonstrated, their fights were useless. After a while, Then demon made Barry slam to the ground, a crater like whole left in the floor. He yelled in pain. "BARRY!" Amethyst yelled. Anger grew inside of her, pouncing rapidly through her veins. She couldn't hold it in. Her hands lit red instead of the usual blue and burned a temperature boiling hot. Her hair turned a pitch dark red , it floating in flames, her pupils black as ink. She began to throw the fire in her hands in a perfect shot to the demon. As a greater demon who was very powerful, he was indestructible. But THIS changed everything. Clary hung onto Jace as she felt the heat of the flames surround her. Barry couldn't move, he was too shocked and also her was well planted in the ground. The demon took time to die, but it was a fast process, after a few seconds, the demon fully disintegrated into ashes. Amethyst stared, then, her red hair disappeared, the flame in her hands dimming, and her black ink eyes went back to a beautiful blue. Izzy and Liam came out of the corner they sheltered in and their Jaws hung open. Clary slightly let go of Jace, who was drenched in sweat. Amethyst then collapsed, to the ground, her clothes burnt and crippled. Liam and Izzy ran to help Barry up while Jace and Clary headed to Amethyst. Clary crouched down to Amethyst and wiped all the hair from her face. "Amethyst, wake up..." as Barry heard this, he immediately panicked. He ignored his pain and ran over to Amethyst, crunching over. "Amethyst...Amethyst c'mon!" He begged. Liam tried this hardest to keep the tears in his eyes from falling. He shook her repeatedly with everyone. He couldn't believe he would lose his sister again. This wasn't possible. And that was true. Barry then scooted away a little and stretched his leg out. He covered his face to hide the fact he was crying, but it was obvious by a little.
