Elsie Mae's POV
"Elsie!!! Wake up! Wake up!" I opened my eyes right when Evelyn jumped on the bed.
"Well good morning, Evelyn." I couldn't help but laugh. I stretched then sat on the edge of my bed. I reached in the small bedside table and pulled out my brush. Before I brushed my own hair I signaled Evelyn over so I could brush her hair and make her look presentable for adoption day. She sat patiently between my legs as I brushed her brown hair.when she was done, she quickly ran to get dressed for the day. I have never seen a little girl so excited.
"It's adoption day!"Evelyn screamed from the other room. I laughed to myself then continued to brush my hair. When I was finished, I went to go get dressed. I put on my new light purple dress that Miss Eliza gave me. Then I went to the dining area to eat breakfast with the others.
"Elsie Mae! Sit by me!" Tommy said as soon as I walked in the room. He moved over on the bench and I sat in between him and Ava. The children began telling me about how excited they were for adoption day in hopes that they would be the one chosen to have a new family. They were also sad in a way, telling me how much they were going to miss me. After breakfast, Tommy started to cry. He said he didn't want to leave me. I picked him up and let him cry on me for a while. Tommy was the closest thing I have had to a brother and it hurt me so bad to see him so upset.
"Attention children, the people adopting will be coming in about an hour. Until then you are free to do whatever you want." Miss Eliza announced. The children began running around and breaking off into groups to play games except Tommy who stayed in my arms.
"Come on, let's go for a walk." I told him. He wiped the tears away from his eyes then climbed down from my arms. He grabbed my hand and we walked outside. We walked around the orphanage then sat down under a tree.
"If I get adopted, I'm not leaving unless you come with me." Tommy said.
I smiled at him. We walked back into the orphanage knowing that the people coming to adopt would be here soon. I began straightening up the children with Miss Eliza and making sure they looked presentable. It was going to be hard losing one of these adorable children today but they will be happy with a new family and if they're happy, I'm happy.

Alexander's POV
"Come on, John! I told Eliza that we would be there in twenty minutes!"
"Sorry, I was just finishing up the spare bedroom for our child." He said walking into the room with a huge smile on his face.
"I'm so excited. I'm going to be a father!" I said excitedly. John and I walked out the door and started our way to the orphanage.

Elsie Mae's POV
"Children! They should be here soon please be on your best behavior and line up youngest to oldest." Miss Eliza smiled. I made my way to the back of the line. All of the children were talking nonstop about who is most likely going to be adopted. Then we heard two men conversing with Miss Eliza. Wait. Men?
"Children, this is Alexander Hamilton and his almost husband John."miss Eliza said to all of us. We all smiled politely.
"Now John and Alexander, you may spend as much time with each child as you want and when you find the one you know you want to adopt, come to my office. Children you are free to do whatever you want unless if Alexander and John wish to speak with you." With those words Miss Eliza left. Tommy came up to me and grabbed my hand. He pulled me toward John and Alexander.
"Tommy, no! Wait for them to come to us." I said. When I looked up, the two men came toward us. I began nudging Tommy ahead of me because that's obviously who they came to see.
"And what's your name little boy?" One of the men asked Tommy.
    "Tommy!" He answered smiling widely.
"Well Tommy, I'm Alexander and this is John." The three of them began talking and I couldn't feel any happier for Tommy. They really seemed to like him and I wouldn't be surprised if he was the one that they chose to adopt.
"What about you? What's your name?" A voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
"M- me?" I managed to stutter. This is the first time someone looking to adopt actually acknowledged me. Alexander I think his name is smiled and nodded.
"I'm Elsie Mae. It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Hamilton." I said trying to sound as polite as possible.
"Oh please, call me Alexander. How old are you Elsie Mae?"
"Fifteen." I replied. We talked for a few more minutes then they moved on talking to another child.
A few hours later, Miss Eliza gathered us all in the hallway near her office where the adoption papers get signed and stuff.
"Well, one of you will be getting a new home today! I'm not saying a word on who it is until all of the paperwork is completed." The three adults walked into the room. All of us stayed as silent as possible trying to hear the decision of who was being adopted, but we heard nothing. After a while, the door opened. The three walked out of the office with big smiles on their faces.
"Elsie Mae, meet your new parents."
