Elsie Mae's POV
I woke up to the sun shining, the birds chirping, and three weirdos staring at me.
"Really?" I asked as I buried my head in my pillow.
"Really." Theodosia said as she jumped on my legs and sending the two of us into a massive giggle fit.
"Girls." Ambrose rolled his eyes and laughed at us.
"So what are the plans for today?" Theodosia asked climbing off of my bed.
"I was thinking that I would take you guys to the orphanage and have you meet the children." I smiled thinking about how much the children were going to love my new friends.
"Aw, that sounds so much fun! I love kids!" Theodosia said looking at Ambrose. I could tell that Jacques was trying so hard to stifle his laughs.
"Okay, I'll just get dressed and then we can go!" I said as my friends left the room. I put on my favorite light blue dress that really brought out the color of my eyes. I quickly brushed my hair and put a ribbon in it as usual. I took one last quick glance in the mirror then quickly made my bed. Then I exited the room.
"Took you long enough." Theodosia joked.
    "Let's go!" I said.
I walked the familiar road to the place where I grew up.
"It's really pretty back here. I don't think I have ever been to this side of town and I've lived here my whole life!" Theodosia said in awe.
"This is it." I said as we approached the building I used to call home. I lightly tapped on the door and a smiling Miss Eliza answered.
"Oh Elsie Mae! It's so good to see you!" She smiled and hugged me.
"Hello, Miss Eliza. These are my friends Theodosia Burr, Ambrose Mulligan, and Jacques de Lafayette. I wanted to show them the orphanage and have them meet the children."
"Pleased to meet you. I'm so glad you are enjoying adopted life Elsie Mae."the four of us walked inside. "Children, look who's here!" Miss Eliza happily said as she revealed me behind her.
"Elsie!" They all ran and attacked me. Jacques laughed as all of them pounced on me. I hugged each child then introduced them to Jacques, Ambrose, and Theodosia. Then we went and played with them. Two small arms wrapped around me and I looked down to see Tommy smiling up at me. I picked him up and brought him over to Jacques who was playing with Evelyn.
"Tommy, this is my friend Jacques." I said putting the little boy down to meet my friend.
"Are you her boyfriend?" Tommy asked Jacques causing both of us to blush uncontrollably. Evelyn grabbed my hand and pulled me to the dolls before Jacques or I could answer.

Jacques POV
After Evelyn pulled Elsie Mae away I looked at Tommy who was still patiently waiting for an answer to his question.
"No, she is not my girlfriend.... Yet at least. But I really like her." Tommy's eyes got wide.
"I knew it!" He said smiling widely. The two of us went outside to play with a ball. I walked past Theodosia and Ambrose who were talking about having kids soon. EW. I have to remember to tell Elsie Mae about that. We stood outside and tossed the ball around. Every time Tommy missed the ball he would start laughing extremely hard. I smiled. Tommy reminded me a lot of Elsie Mae. They may have not been actual siblings but you can tell that she has made a huge impact on his life. A little while later I spotted Elsie Mae and three little girls taking a walk. I really wanted to join them but Tommy was having too much fun with the ball. We continued playing for a while then he wanted me to chase him. We ran around the orphanage, Tommy laughing and screaming every time I got near him.
After I finally caught Tommy, the two of us went back inside. Elsie Mae had all of the kids around her and she was reading them a story. She would make an amazing mother someday. Tommy pulled me over to the circle of kids and sat on my lap while we listened to Elsie Mae read. When she was done, Eliza called the kids into the kitchen for lunch. She asked if we wanted to join them and Elsie Mae agreed.
"Where did Ambrose and Theodosia go?" I asked her.
"They left. They wanted to go have another picnic lunch or something." She rolled her eyes. I could tell she was somewhat jealous. Elsie and I sat on either side of Tommy who had the biggest smile on his face.
"You're really good with kids." I told her as to,my gave her a hug.
"Yeah, I love them. I would love to have some of my own someday." She ran her hand through Tommy's hair.

Elsie Mae's POV
After lunch, Jacques and I continued to play with the children for a long time. I really enjoyed spending time with him. He was great with kids and he would make an amazing father someday.
When it was time to leave, I hugged each of the children then Miss Eliza and Jacques did the same thing. We walked out of the orphanage just as the sun was setting.
"I really had a great time today Jacques."I said to the cute French boy next to me.
"I did as well Elsie." He smiled. He walked me to the front porch and hugged me. I could get used to this.
