EMMA POINT OF VIEW
Today the Chosen Day event! I'm challenging a villain!

I've been training almost non-stop for the last month. Only stopped to eat and sleep. I feel so pumped and ready. I stayed in the training room the whole month never left. The good news about people not liking you is you won't get disturbed by anyone.

Only by Father who came by to give me my meals. Sometimes he was too busy and didn't come and I missed a meal or two, but I don't care I was used to not eating much.

Father came in while I was practicing my sprints across the room. Father once told me that this room is the size of ten football fields. I don't know how big or what a football field looks like, but it's pretty small if that's the case. I ran across the field in three minutes. Snap, I was ten seconds over my last one!

I go back to father who's sleeping against the door frame. The guilt of him not getting that much sleep creeps in.

Stop, don't let anything get in the way of ruining this perfect moment...I wonder who my villain is?

Before I woke father up, I thought about the dinner we had a month ago. We opened the envelope together telling us the rounds, but also telling us they're going to be twists in each round. You need to win two out of three rounds to ultimately win against your opponent. The worst part about it is you don't know who you're challenging until the Chosen Day, which is today! I can't wait to find out who I have to beat...I'm mean compete with.

"Father?" His eyes slowly open. He gives me a sheepish smile. "I was just waiting for you to finish." I started laughing. "Nice try."

He holds out my arm, which I take and together we walk to the arena. It's tradition that your parents walk you to the event.
.....
We're now waiting outside the arena to figure out who I'm challenging. "Now Emma, no matter what happens you're a winner." Ah, the classic father daughter talk. I was this close to telling father why I need to win, but decided against it.

"Thanks, father."

"Emma Starfield!"

"Right here!" I walk up to the lady where she holds out the big envelope. The official envelope!

I walk back to father, and together we open it. He opens the sealed and I take the contents out. We've been doing that for...forever.

Taking a deep breath. "Ready, father?" He gives a small laugh. "Ready as I'll ever be. You?" Nodding I pull out the paper. "Huh, someone name Jacob Hallow? Doesn't seem that intimating. You okay father?" His skin turned white, and his breaths are getting shorter.

"Out of all the kids...you had to get him? He's the most dangerous of them all! The top in his class for over 2,000 years." Wow, to keep the title for that long is... sort of impressive.

Who am I kidding I never even had that title for a day.

"Do you think I have a chance on beating him?" I questioned. I know I shouldn't have, but I need to know, that the one person who believes in me...believes in me.

"Trust me when I say, your the only one who could handle him. I know I shouldn't be saying that, but I've seen you training with the others before you never give up even after you lose you keep going. None of the other trainees does that. Play smart, he got some tricks up his sleeve I can feel it. He going to make you feel worse...worse than you already feeling about the heros not accepting you...he going to make you feel hopeless beyond compare." He whispered without stopping to breathe.

"How do you know?"

"On my Chosen Day event I challenged the director of the villains. It's impossible to get a tie, but we were both so...competitive and wouldn't give up until one of us won. Our people made us directors over them after seeing how strong we both were that was only time we sent four heros/villains. If that boy is being trained by that director, which no doubt he is...he's going to try pull you down..."

He was cut off by the announcer who told us to take our places inside the arena. I want to ask him so much more pertaining to that, but he just smiles.

"Remember, play smart. Villains never play fairly...just be yourself. One more thing try to figure out his weakness. Okay?" A officer pulled him away from me and pushed me inside the arena.

"Okay!" I shouted as I was pushed inside. To my surprise everyone was inside shooting daggers at me. Even the heros. It was the villains who first turned away, but heros kept their stares on me. I walk to the only person who does not have a partner.

That must be my villain...let's do this!

I walk to the end where the helpers of the event put on my armor. Jacob just keeps staring at me as they did so.

When they were done I grabbed a sword and a shield. "So, you're who I'm challenging?" His tone raging with disbelief. Of course he continues on, and what do I do? Let him.

"What...they couldn't have given me an actual challenge? Already looking at you I can tell you're weak." Several of the heros give a small giggle to his comment. I look at father who gives me a small smile and mouths "don't let him win."

"If I was such a 'weakling' I wouldn't be here now would I?" He stares back at me in disbelief like no one has ever talked back to him like that or at all.

Good, someone should teach him the basics of manners villain or not...actually keyword is 'villain.'

"Please, there must have been a mistake or your really close to the director." His eyes shifted to father. Snap! Don't let him win before the event even starts!

"This may be come as a shock for you, but nothing you say I haven't heard before, but nice try." I stare daggers at him, but all I see is Jennifer face staring daggers at me.

Stare contest with a villain who I'm imagining is Jennifer...that's the first.

"Aw, you poor baby." He said amused.

Ugh, you're so despicable, but I'll just fight you in the tournament...not now. Watch out, Jacob, you don't know who you're dealing with.

I have to go to Earth. You winning isn't an option.
