Run Away

Chapter 12

"Rise and Shine!" Kyle calls. I get up and grab a couple clothes. I run to the girls bathrooms and get dressed. I finish and get changed and head to breakfast.

"You're late." Kyle says. "I needed a shower." I say taking a seat in front of my food. "Alright, so we have figured out how the Walkers began. There was a team our troops were trying to right long ago who just wanted world domination. They're called XDraco. They took several hundred lives and poisoned them, creating the Walker. There's R-Walkers, X-Walkers, and M-Walkers. R-Walkers are not powerful at all, X-Walkers are like R-Walkers but they can dodge things, and X-Walkers can dodge but they can fight. They're all being controlled by XDraco to wipe out the entire country. But we're gonna stop them." Kyle says.

"How can we tell where they are?" Max asks. "Well we've got special GPS that can tell where they are in the whole state." Kyle says.

"So they're only in Virginia?" Claire asks. "Yes, and we're planning on stopping them before they spread.

"So today....I want everyone in the gym. Cause tomorrow....you might be on the field." He says as he walks out.
"Well....that was serious." Charlie says.

We all finish and head to the gym. I first Do five laps around the gym. Then I grab a gun and work on my aim. I do five pull ups on the bars. And lastly I work on climbing a rope.

"Alright, you're all done for the day. Go get ready for dinner." Kyle says as he walks into the gym. Everyone else leaves. I continue to to do push ups. "Tara I said you could leave." He says. "I know. I say continuing. He sighs. "Do you ever listen?" He asks.

"Its not that I don't listen....I just don't want to fail." I say walking over to him and grabbing a towel off the rack. "I like your determination, hurry up." He says leaving.

I walk to my room and grab cleaner clothes. I go and get a shower and meet the others up for dinner. We eat and chat. "To the last day before we begin to fight, we might die but we died trying." Charlie says lifting his cup in the air. "To that!" We all say climbing our plastic cups together.

We all laugh and finish out food. I throw my trash away and head to my room. After a few minuets there's a knock on my door. I open to to reveal Reece. "Hey." I say. "Hey Can we talk?" He asks. "Yeah." I say. He walks in and I close the door.

"Look today's the last day before we begin to fight and I....." He trails off. He grand my hands. "I have to do this." And with that he kisses me.

It short and sweet, but I loved it. "Tara Will you be my girlfriend?" He asks. "Reece....I would love to. But I can't." I say. His smile fades "Why not?" He asks. "Reece, think about it. What if one of us die in the next couple of days. I can't leave you sad, and I myself can't handle anymore pain." I say.

"What about when this is all over.....what if we've lived?" He asks.
"I'm not sure Reece. God only knows what will happen to us then."

"You're right." He says. "I love you Reece." I say. He smiles and walks out. I sigh and lay down. Please God, help these next few days go okay.

And with that I drift off to sleep.
