Chapter 13

"Rise and Shine!" Kyle calls. I sit up in my bed. Today's the day. I will either live or die. I get dressed in the combat hear they gave me, which was a black long sleeved t shirt, black cargo fight pants, a bullet proof vest, a black jacket, and black boots. I put on my coin necklace and head to the cafeteria.

Eveyrone else is dressed like me. We all sit quietly talking here and there while eating.

"Here's how today is gonna go." Kyle says as everyone files into the yard. "You five will each have a four wheeler type thing. Me and the crew will be following behind in trucks. You will all listen to Tara, She will give you the commands. Now follow me out to the cars where we will give you your weapons and talking gear."

We all do as told. I sit on my four wheeler and he comes to me last. He hands me two hand guns, a machine gun, and a mini rifle. He also hands me a bag of amo. "Here's your ear piece and walkie talkie. Everyone around here will have one so they can all hear you." He starts to walk off but turns around.

"Don't be afraid Tara, we all believe in you." He says. He runs and gets in the truck. "Alright everyone should have a GPS detector on their four wheeler. It will locate where the Walkers are and what type they are. Tara whenever your ready say for the gates to be open and we will all follow you." Kyle says.

I take a deep breath. "Open the gates. Lets do this thing!" I yell. The gates open and we all speed out into the forest. "Alright there's a incoming if about 15, 50 yards away." Kyle says. "Alright Everyone speed up, surround them, and shoot but be careful." I say.

We all speed up and they soon come into sight. We begin rapid firing. Soon they all fall. "Alright everyone continue on. We have one truck who will stop and pick up the dead bodies." Kyle says.

"Alright." I say. We continue driving. "Okay there's about a group of 30, We need to get off the four wheelers and fight this one." I say.

"Okay." They all say. We approach the group and begin fighting them. Some of them ducked because they are the stupid X-Walkers. We fight until they're all taken out. The truck comes and collects all the bodies.

I get back on my four wheeler and look at my GPS. "Okay so there's not another group for another 500 miles I say We stop in the nearest town." I say. We all agree and drive towards the town.

Memories flood back as we pass the sign. Welcome to Kingston. It reads. "Tara, Reece was this..." Charlie starts. "Yes." We both say. We drive through the town. The high school appears on my right almost to looked untouched. "Stop here." I say. We all pull up and I run inside. "Tara!" Reece yells following behind me. "What are you doing?" He asks. "Its untouched, maybe there are survivors." I say.

"Tara the likes of that are...." He's cut off by a voice. "Hello? Whose there?" A woman's voice calls. We walk around the corner to a room with a cracked door. We walk in and see a bunch of people sitting in there. "Mom?!?" Reece says. "Reece?!?" a woman says. They hug and she cries. "I need everyone in here there are survivors." I say into the walkie talkie

"Who are you?" A man asks. "I'm Tara Norman, don't worry we're gonna take care of Everyone." I say. The other three rush in followed by General Kyle.

"Dad?" Claire says running up to the man from before.
"Mom,Dad!" Charlie says running to a man and woman. "James and Daphine!" Max says running to the two kids in the room. That makes everyone in the room. I sadden as flashbacks of my Mom recur.

We all escort the survivors out to one of the trucks. "The rest of the trucks are gonna return to the facility and take care of the survivors. You five and my truck will finish today's job." Kyle says.

The other say goodbye to there loved ones and the trucks pull away. I get in my four wheeler and start it back up. "Okay the group of walkers are only a hundred yards away now. It looks to be about 50 and 10 of them are M-Walkers." Kyle says.

"Okay, we will need to shoot down the others than get off and fight the M-Walkers." I say.

We all speed off into the direction they are. After a while they appear in site. We shoot down the others until the 10 are left. I jump off my four wheeler and begin shooting.

I shoot at one as it starts to come near me. It dodges it and continues to walk to me. It lunges at me and I duck and roll. I shoot at it and it falls to the ground. I look around and see that they're all dead.

"Alright that's good for today, everyone home." Kyle says. We all ride back home. I get off my four wheeler and somone takes it to be washed. I run inside after the others. "Tara you coming to dinner?" Reece asks.

"No, I'm not hungry." I say turning around and walking to my room. "I know you were looking for your mom. But you found mine, so thank you." He says. I stop. "No problem. Plus I know my Mom is in a better place. I was just hoping there was a slight chance she would be there." I say. He smiles at me. "Night." I yell. "Night Tara." He says.

I walk to my room and lay down. Drifting off to sleep.

Alright everyone! So I have decided to upload Chapters 13 and 14. 15 and 16 might be published later on this week.

I hope its not bad to upload 4 chapters in a day....but I don't care😬.

I will be announcing the book is close to the end. As of right now I'm working on Chapter 17 and I'm gonna try to get to 20, who knows there could be more or less.

But I'm planning on doing a 2nd book of that's cool.

I'm debating on the name though.
