Run Away

Chapter 9

I was getting ready to shoot the Walker. As I pulled the trigger, it turned into my Mom. "Mom! No!" I yelled. She fell to the ground. I dropped the gun and cried. "I just shot my Mom." I repeated over and over again.

"Its okay Tara." Somone said. "Its not okay." I said looking up at the man. "Dad?" "It's me Tara." He said. "N...No you left!" I say. "I'm closer than you think Tara." He says.

"Tara! Tara! Tara!" I'm woken up by somone shaking me. I look up to see Charlie, Reece, Claire, and Max. "You okay? What happenned?" Charlie asks. "I had...a nightmare." I say. "What about?" Reece asks. "N...Nothing." I lie. "Okay, C'mon breakfast is ready." Reece says.

I get up and follow them downstairs. We all get our plates and sit down.
The other talk while I sit and think. "I'm closer than you think" Repeats over in my head.

"We're heading to the other base tomorrow, today we are gonna pack everything up." Kyle says. We all nod.

After I finished I walked up to my room and got changed. I took the couple of clothes that they gave me and stuffed them into a bag.

I walked out to the trucks and handed them my bag. "Tara, could you go grab the guns we left on the stands by the wall?" Kyle asks. I nod and run down to the location of the stands.

I grab them and start shoving them into the bag. "Alright and the last...." I start. I begin to hear a noise coming from the other side of the wall. It sounded like....a group of Walkers. I then hear something that sounds like....somone climbing the wall.

I hold the gun close to me and back up. Then it happens. A group of Walkers appear at the top of the wall. These jokers aren't supposed to be able to climb! They begin to climb off the top. I run back up to the trucks and to where Everyone is standing.

"Walkers, on this side of the wall!" I yell. "Yeah right Tara, I know you're trying to get back at me for the prank the other day." Reece says. He then stares at my face. "You're not kidding." He says. We all begin to grab weapons. As the Walkers appear. We begin firing. Some are shot but some of them dodged them.

"What the...." Max trails off. We shoot them over and over again until they're all dead. "I want blood drawn from all of them." I say. "Tara...you okay....sorry I didn't believe you at first." Reece says hugging me. "I'm fine...and it's cool."

"Okay I don't want to ruin this cute moment....but how the heck did they climb the wall, and dodge the bullets." Charlie says. "Maybe....maybe they aren't regular Walkers." I say. "Maybe. We will be able to figure some of this out tomorrow. But everyone inside for dinner." Kyle says.

We all do as told and head inside.
