Run Away

Chapter 5

The drive lasted for 2 hours. It was silent being we were all still traumatized.

The place we got out at was not what I was expecting. It was a two story house. "Wait here." General Kyle says. He walks up to the door. It opens to a woman. She looked to be in her 30's.

General Kyle comes back over to us and begans to talk. "This is the house of Mary Taylors, one of our soldiers. We will stay here for a couple days so we can figure out a plan." "What If the Walkers come here?" Max asks. "This town has a 6 foot steel fence around it." The General says.

"Then why don't we stay here?" Charlie asks. "It doesn't have what we need. Don't forget we have to fight them." He says. He turns and walks up to the house. We all follow him inside. "You must be the recrutes. Follow me to your rooms." Mary says. We follow her up the stairs.

The guys are dropped off at their room first and then me and Claire. "I'll leave you to get settled in." Mary says. She exits the room.

"This is all messed up." Claire says laying on one of the two beds. "I agree." I reply. We talk for a bit until there's a knock on the door. I open it to see Reece. "Dinners ready." He says.

We follow him downstairs into the dining room where the other two boys, Mary, and General Kyle is sitting there. We take our seats and began eating.

After we finish we all go up to our rooms for sleep. I pray silently that this would all be over, before I fall into a deep sleep.
