After finding out that this Kai guy was going to be her date to the wedding. Maya wasn't sure how to react. She hoped it wasn't him, but a tiny piece of her hoped it was. She didn't want to admit that of course, at least not to her self.
Maya immediately told Joshua when she got back to the house. Ever since she told him about how they met and stuff. Joshua has asked her to keep her updated if he ever came up again somewhere. Joshua would also tease her that she liked him and, of course, Maya would threaten him by telling him she was going to throw his guitar in the ocean.
"Wait, why can't you be my date to the wedding? We're only cousins." Maya asked Joshua, who was folding clothes. Maya was with him at his work.
"And that's the thing," Joshua replied, "Autumn and her husband don't want ANY dates to be related in a way. They want it to be cute I guess, and match people up together." He finished, shrugging.
Maya tilted her head, "Why didn't you be a groomsman or whatever?" Joshua looked at her and thought, "I didn't really want too. I wasn't in the mood to stand up there for like ever. I'm still attending the wedding, just not going to be up there with all you guys."
Maya nodded slowly and looked around the store, and then her eyes landed on a certain someone. "Joshua, Joshua. There he is! That guy named Kai." Maya whispered to Joshua, tugging on his sleeve. "Really? Where?" He furrowed his eyebrows. Maya pointed in the direction Kai was in. He was outside of the store, and stopped to go on his phone.
Joshua and Maya hid behind a sales rack. Why? Not sure. "You should go ask him if he's going to be attending a certain wedding anytime soon." Joshua lightly started pushing Maya to go talk to him, but she stood her ground. "Oh no, no, no. That's weird."
"Not really." Joshua stated. Maya huffed, maybe it wouldn't be weird. Kai started walking away, then Maya got an idea. "I'm going to follow him." Joshua looked at her like she was crazy.
"You can't be serious. Now that's weird."
"I just want to see if he goes into like a tuxedo store or something. Maybe he's looking for something to wear to the wedding? Who knows?" Maya explained starting to walk out of the store.
"What if he's getting a suit for something else?" Joshua inclined.
"Like what?"
"I don't know. Like a interview, or a, uh, art museum gala thing."
"Art museum gala thing?" Maya smirked, "Really?" Maya gave him a face that read 'that's the best you could come up with?'.
"I'm just saying. Go ahead and be a stalker though. Full fill your desires." He shooed her away, and walked off to the back of the clothing store. Maya adjusted herself and sped walk to find where the boy went.
She got sight of him walking a few feet away from her. She kept her distance just incase he decided to, all of sudden, turn around. They walked for about three minutes until he reached a store for men.
