Girls care more about their appearance then their friends. Well, that's the conclusion I've come to for the girls in my class. Myra was my best friend in primary school. We would go to each others houses, paint each others nails, listen to music. This was not the case now. She was interested in boys and make-up, I was interested in Taekwondo and Star Wars. By the end of sixth grade, our friendship was hanging by a thread. The last straw came around when she basically called me fat in front of all my friends, including Mia and Jo. "Hey guys, if we were on a desert island, who would you eat first? I'd eat Lulu because she's got the most meat on her." In that moment, I knew, that we shouldn't be friends anymore.
Today, I walked into English to find Myra sitting in the seat next to Jared, where I normally sit. She was trying to flirt with him, but Jared was awkwardly trying to inch his seat away. He looked at me with a pleading look and I gave him amused smile. Myra flicked her styled hair and stared at me with a cold glare. Just to piss her off, I gave her a friendly smile.
"Lulu, can you please sit down?" I sat down in the only spot left, next to Myra's best friend Charlie.
"Alright class. Today we're doing a pairs assignment." Everybody instantly clung to their partner to make sure they got who they wanted.
"I will be choosing, so everybody can let go of each other." There was a huge disappointed sigh across the room and the teacher started to read out partners.
"...Lisa and Maggie, Tom and Sarah, Jared and Charlie, and Myra and Lulu." My heart sunk when I heard my name called out. The last person I wanted to go with.
I stood out of my seat and walked towards Myra who was still clinging to Jared. "Let's get this over with." She said and let go of him. He quickly bolted over to Charlie just to get away from her.
"Just so you know, I'm not doing any of the assignment so you can do it by yourself." Myra snapped in my face and turned to her other love interest, Sam. Sam was my self defense partner at the Taekwondo club so we were pretty close. Instead of adoring Myra, like all the other boys do, Sam looked bored and slightly disgusted. Probably because of the layers of make-up Myra had put on that morning.
"So much for having partners." I muttered under my breath and went to work. Actually, when I say working, I mean pretending to work and eavesdropping on Myra and Sam's conversation.
"Uh, look at Charlie. She's such a slut. She's totally all over Jared. Gees, give the guy some space." Myra said making me drop my jaw in shock. I thought they were friends. I had totally misjudged their relationship. I looked over at Jared and Charlie and they were smiling at each other and laughing.
"Cough, cough, hypocrite, cough, cough." I heard Sam say under his breath.
"What did you say Sammy?" He hated it when people called him Sammy.
"Oh, nothing Myra. And my names Sam in case you haven't noticed."
My grin was from ear to ear when I heard Sam's comment. I had to admit, Sam was probably the cutest and sweetest guy I've ever met, but he knows exactly what to say to say and when to say it.
"I think you should probably help Lulu now. I'm sure she would want you to expand your brain capacity, cause it hasn't changed since you were 6."
Myra gave a frustrated grunt and turned around. I looked at Sam and he winked. My heart melted.
The bell rang and everybody hastily packed up.
"See you tonight, Sam. 6.00?" I asked.
"I'll be there." Answered Sam, giving me another heart melting, adorable wink.
Myra stood their with a stupid, shocked look on her face. Little did she know I was talking about training.
Sam and I walked out together and he followed me to my locker.
"Are you going to the competition this weekend?" Sam asked.
"Yeah. I'm coaching Jared for his first comp with us. Are you coaching anyone?"
"I'm coaching Amelia, the 6 year old yellow belt. She's so cute and it's her first competition. I really hope she gets gold."
"Awwww, that's cute. I hope you do well. I've gotta go to dancing now but I'll see you later."
"See ya."
I closed my locker and started to walk towards the exit. My phone made a buzzing sound so I looked at it and saw a text from my mum.
'Hey honey. My boss wants me to go to Melbourne for the week. I'll be gone when you get home but make sure you look after your father. Love you, Mum.'
Halfway through reading my text I heard Myra behind me and decided to eavesdrop. I know. A bad habit.
"Did you see Lulu today? She was wearing that ugly Taekwondo jacket again. Does she have any taste? And she thinks she can get Sam with that fat ass? She's dreaming."
I turned around and walked straight up to her. Looking her in the eye I said, "At least I'm not a bitchy friend who can't keep her hands to herself." Her face went red with anger and she tried to slap me. Keyword: tried. I caught her arm and punched her in the nose. She instantly squealed and everybody turned around to look. The principal came around the corner, frustration clearly in his words. "Lulu and Myra, my office now."

Hi guys,
I hope you liked this chapter. I really enjoyed writing this one because I got to vent out all my anger on Myra. (The anger built up was mostly school work and the girl who inspired Myra giving me death glares.) Picture of Myra. Please comment and vote. I would love to hear from you.
Cheers, tamzy10
