"YES!" Myra shouted enthusiastically, making me jump. "I start!" Why did I have a bad feeling about this? "Jared, truth or dare?"
Jared's face went pale. "Truth?" He must have been scared about what she would make him do for dare.
"Who in this room would you kiss?"
He started to blush and he played with his hands. Slowly lifting his head up he stared into my eyes, making me freeze.
"Lulu." It was barely a whisper, but just enough so everyone, I mean everyone, could hear it.
He smiled at me, so I smiled back. But I felt guilty. I didn't like Jared, I liked Sam, but I didn't have the heart to tell him. I looked away from him but caught Charlie's gaze on me. She looked hurt, like I'd just betrayed her and left her for dead. Myra on the other hand looked like she was suddenly on her period. Her face went red and she started to grit her teeth.
"I guess it's my turned." Jared said. "Sam, truth or dare?"
Sam's face went into a cocky smirk. "Dare."
"It's kind of hard to do dares in here." I added, watching Jared's screwed up thinking face. His face made a quick change and he was smiling like an idiot.
"No. I've got one." He said turning to face the wall. "Draw on the wall."
"What?" Sam asked, confused by why he choose the dare.
"You're good at drawing. Draw Mr. Alan's portrait on the wall."
"Alright."
Sam picked the permanent marker from the desk and went to an uncovered bit of wall. His hands made quick movements along the surface, curving and darting around. At first the picture looked like a big scribble, but it slowly developed into an amazing drawing. It was perfect. It captured Mr. Alan's pointy nose, bucked teeth, scruffy hair, and he even did the tiny little mole on the side of his cheek.
"Guys," Charlie said, "What is Dad gonna say?"
"Don't worry you can blame it on us." Jared said, throwing a wink in Charlie's direction.
Her face lifted and she looked less disappointed now.
A faint scratching sound came at the door and everyone instantly shushed up. It sounded like two people talking, but we couldn't make out what they were saying. I stood up and started to bang on the door.
"HELP!" I yelled not thinking.
Everybody else got up and joined in. The two voices on the other side stopped talking and came closer to the door. Finally. This was our ticket out of here. The door fell forward and everyone tripped over each other. We all ended up in a pile at the feet of Mr. Alan and my father.
"Hi, Dad." Charlie and I both said in unison. We both forced a nervous smile.
Dad held out a hand. I grasped it and failed to get up gracefully. I stepped on Myra's hand and she cried out in pain. Nobody cared...apart from Mr. Alan. He rushed to Myra's aid and left the rest of us to get up by ourselves, over his own daughter.
My father hugged me tightly. "Lets get you out of here." He said dragging me away from everyone else.
The last thing I remember before passing out on the couch was mum rushing through the front door to see me.
~~~
"Lulu!" Charlie yell whispered at me.
"What?" I asked, rubbing my eyes.
"You were asleep."
"Oh." I said smiling to myself. I did it without Mrs. White seeing, or maybe she just didn't care.
"I did it." An enthusiastic tone in her voice.
"Did what?"
"I told Myra what she said about me was wrong. She tried to deny it. I told her I didn't want anymore of her crap and left before she got a chance to talk." Charlie gave me a grim look and I patted her on the back.
"Don't worry. You can do way better than her."
We smiled at each other and then the bell went.
~~~
"More power, Lulu! Do you want to do well or not?" Dad yelled at me.
My legs and arms hurt like crazy but I had to keep going. I drew my leg back and flung it at the target as hard as I could. It went flying across the room.
My dad's hand landed on my shoulder and I looked up at him grinning. "You didn't kick hard enough." he said, sarcastically.
I punched him in the shoulder and he let out a small yelp. "Ow!"
"Can we go home? I've had so much dance practice, exams and training. Not to mention that I got locked in a closet for a day yesterday. And I'm hungry."
"You're always hungry."
"True." I said smiling at my Dad.
When we got home that night, I had the best night that I would have in a few months. We laughed as a family, had food (I love food. It's a surprise I'm not the size of a truck yet), watched my favorite movie (school of rock) and I slept like a baby. If I had known what was going to happen next, I would have made sure I remembered that moment.

Hey,
Thank you so much for waiting for this update (my friend has been nagging me so much). I have a plan for this story now. I originally didn't, but now I know what's going to happen. Matilda at the top.
Thanks,
