The gravel crackled under the thick tires of the car.
"If we were going any slower, we'd get back to the dorms by Christmas," I joked sarcastically earning a small smile out of Harry.
"I'm sorry," he mumbled from behind his tugged lips, but half of me knew what he was doing. I didn't want this date to end either. "We're here," seconds later we pulled into the front of the dorms.
"We're here," I confirmed under the exhale of my breath. I collected my bag from under my feet. I took a deep breath, turning to him. His hair was lightly sitting atop his head, his emerald eyes staring straight at me. His small smile, showed no teeth.
"Thanks Chelsea," he whispered, his lips moving in the darkness.
"Why are you thanking me?" I asked.
"Just because. I never knew what it was like to go on a date..." he closed his eyes, "...and have so much fun." I smiled back at him, leaning him to give him a small peck on the cheek.
"Well thanks for taking me out," I said, "I had a lot of fun."
And with that I was out of the car. I didn't look back once as I walked through the big door of the dorms. I didn't want to seem too desperate. But I walked down the long hallway, with a huge smile plastered on my face the whole way down. I made it back to my dorm in one piece, surprised I was staying so collected. The buzzing warmth inside my body, telling me otherwise.
I walked in through the door to find Riley studying on her bed.
"It's about time you got back," she grinned looking up from her papers before I even had the chance to shut the door.
"Hey."
"Looks like thing's went well--"
"Chelsea!" I whipped around to find Harry standing in the doorway, breathless. I blinked my eyes a few times to see if I was dreaming. "You left this."
His adoring hand held out my black, leather jacket. I had left it in the car. Idiota. I was about to grab it from him, and thank him before his lean body lifted itself into mine.
My hands were thrown up, gripping onto his shirt, to keep my balance. My nervous fingers wrapped themselves into the warm fabric of his blazer, his own hands making their way to my waist. His lips were hot against my own, leaving me breathless. I parted my mouth to get air, but his tongue was quicker than I thought. He traced the tip of his tongue, across my lips into my mouth. I giggled, my mind subconsciously forgetting about Riley.
I pressed my lips closer to his, dying to feel anything more. But I was disappointed to feel his delicate touch lift from mine. He kept his forehead pressed against mine, his eyes still electric from the moment. "And you forgot that too," his voice was a whisper, soft enough so only I could hear. I felt his hands place the leather jacket into my hands, before he turned down the hall and left. I watched him leave, my eyes wide open. I closed the door, turning stiffly to Riley.
"Whoa," she exclaimed.
"Whoa," I agreed.
"So you two?"
"I really don't know," the realization crashing back down on me, "It could've just been a one time thing."
"Doesn't look like it," she raised a thin eyebrow, "I don't know much about guys, but that doesn't look like a one time thing."
"I sure hope it isn't."
...
I woke up the next morning, nearly thinking last night was all a dream. The date, the kiss, the second kiss. It was all so crazy, a blur.
