It was a short ride from our dorm to the frat house. We sat in a comfortable silence as Riley's car rolled out onto the road. Train was playing quietly in the background as I shifted in my seat. I wasn't nervous, I just didn't want this night to turn out a disaster. Like the other night.
I had decided on wearing a dark pair of ripped jean shorts. Not too revealing, yet not too conservative. I knew I had killer legs, and I was pretty comfortable showing them off. For my shirt, I just wore a plain white v-neck. I wanted to keep casual, I wasn't planning on attracting any attention from anyone anyways.
Riley on the other hand, went for her new yellow dress. I didn't know how appropriate it was for a frat party, but it definitely looked good on her. She had that kind of subtle beauty, the one easily looked past. I would kill to have her hair, it was stunning. Of course it was still tied up in a pony tail though. But even then it was so much prettier than my boring, thick Latina hair.
She drove onto a side road parrallel to the Kappa Tau house. We got out of the car and made our way to the party. It was still pretty early. The sun was just beginning to set, leaving the sky a grayed blue. The house was buzzing with anticipation as we neared the front door. It definitely was a tone down from last time. All the girls were practically naked running around like crazy the other night. There were colorful streamers, cascading down the old walls of the frat like tears.
We walked through the front door, the alcohol never failing to faze me. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. I could feel the memories creeping up into my brain. I don't need this, not now. I shook the thoughts away standing up a bit taller.
My eyes instantly caught to who seemed like the only boy in the room. Harry. He was laughing along with a few other people. Most girls, but a few guys. I was almost relieved to see he wasn't doing anything more than talking and laughing. That's all I've seen him do pretty much so far. Whether it was a kiss on the cheek or just his lazy arm slung around a girl's shoulder....he was a player, and he never seemed to be left alone. My eyes darted away as Niall walked towards me.
"Hey Chelsea," he smiled warming recieving a smile back from me, "I didn't think you were coming."
"Why not?" I asked loudly.
"I don't know...I didn't think you liked the party much last time," he said over the music.
"I didn't...Riley wanted me to come," I mumbled nudging my head towards Riley who was standing with her hands at her side. She had a small smile grinned on her face as she stared at Niall. She looked with the lustful eyes that someone would have to be blind to miss. She liked him. I smiled, they would make such a cute couple. I noticed Niall looking back at her giving her a small wave.
"I'll be right back..." I said hoping to give them some privacy. I didn't really like the idea of leaving the only two people I was friends with, but I would find my way around right?
I somehow made my way to the kitchen. This is the second time I've been to this house, you would think I knew my way around by now. But something about this party atmostphere was so much different than it was during the day. It was so wild and confusing.
"Would you like a drink?" a boy asked. He was slim and had light brown hair. His eyebrows were bushy and wiggled as he talked. I stifled a giggle.
"I'm good thanks," I replied. He nodded.
"I'm Liam," he called over the music just as it changed to a different song. He laughed as his voice was apparent over the silence.
"Chelsea," I said back. He smiled nicely before walking off with a red cup in his hand. I sighed putting my palms flat onto the granite counter. I reached my hand into the bowl of pretzels inches from me. I continued snacking watching the party go on. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Everyone had someone else to talk to, dance with, make out with...And here I was all alone chowing down on pretzels.
