Four's POV.
"Okay people. I've got my first clue as to who Anon is." Uriah says.
"Who?!" Marlene asks, passing the chips to Tris.
We're all gathered here, at our second Anon meeting.
"We've got a clue on who helps Anon." I continue for Uriah. "They're not a dauntless member, but they're an initiate."
Tris immediately gets up and says 'Alex'. I shoot her the 'Can-You-Not?' Look which causes her to sit down.
"As I was saying, it's an Initiate. We've caught one of them communicating with with who we believe is either another person who works for Anon or Anon themselves using one of our computers."
"And how do you know it's an Initiate ?"Christina.
"Because every dauntless member would know not to use an incognito window whenever trying to search for something without anyone knowing."
"That makes sense. There are more initiates than there ever was this year. We have 80 of them." Christina.
"That's why each and everyone of you are going to be assigned to a group of initiates to watch over. Eric and I agreed to change the way each group is separated for training." I say looking over at Eric who nods in agreement.
----
Tris's POV.
At this point, we are now in the training room with Initiates. I almost shake when I hear Eric yell:
"Initiates! We're changing things up a bit here. You will now be put into 8 different groups. Ten each. We want to properly access the way you're being trained, make sure there's no cheating or mischievous affairs going around."
"Since when have you cared about cheating and mischievous affairs?" An initiate asks.
They have a point. Eric is a gruesome person. But at the same time, he has dedicated a good portion of his time to help save my life.
"Just let him talk!" I find myself yelling, coming to his defense.
He looks at me and smiles in appreciation. I smile back.
"As I was saying, you'll have 8 people in charge here. Four, Tris, Peter, Me, Christina, Uriah, Marlene, and Lynn. I'll read off who you're assigned to. And if you do not follow your leaders orders, you'll immediately be cut... Is that clear?!" Eric shouts.
"Yes sir!" The Initiates call out.
"Anything else you wanna add Four?" Eric ask.
"Nope."
"Alright! I'll read off who is assigned to who." Eric says
As Eric reads off the paper, I feel a hand lightly tug on my shoulder. I turn around and see it's Four. He motions his cocks his head over to the corner, asking if we can go talk over there.
When we get over there, he just gives me a long stare.
"Is there a problem?" I ask.
"What's wrong with you, Tris?" He asks.
Usually you'd feel insulted when someone asks you this. But Four was so genuine and sincere in his question that made it seemed like he really cared.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I say.
"Why do you have such a problem with Alex?" He asks.
"I don't have a problem with her. There's just something I don't like about her that really bothers me." I state.
"Okay but did you really have to stab her with a knife?"
"Did you not listen to me the first time?
I didn't stab her. Why don't you believe me?
"Because you're giving me every reason not to."
"Oh so you're taking her side now?"
"I'm not taking her side, I'm simply looking at the situation from an unbiased perspective."
"Meaning you're taking her side." I reclaim.
"I'm not."
"You are!"
"I'm not!"
"You are!"
"You know what. Maybe we need a break." Four says.
As soon as those words come out of his mouth, my anger is replaced with shock.
"What?"
"Tris, I think we need a break."
I'm caught aback. Having him repeat those words make my heart sink. How am I suppose to take a break from the man I love? The man I love with? The man who means so much to me?
"But--"
"Look, you aren't being yourself Tris. This isn't the girl I fell in love with. You're suddenly becoming more distant and skeptical about everything. I'll sleep on the couch from now on until we figure everything out."
Tears begin to fight their way out of my eye sockets but I immediately draw them back.
"Fine... If you really want that." I softly say before turning around and walking away.
"Tris..."
I ignore his call and burst out of the door, just like the tears burst out of my eyes.
