Marlene's POV.

We begin running. We run as if our lives depended on it, which technically, it's true. Our lives did depend on it. We begin making all these different turns while following Four until we reach the dauntless lunch room. Four tells everybody to come to his apartment. When we arrive in his apartment, he shuts the doors and binds the windows.

"Did you guys freakin here that?! they still want to kill me!" Tris says.

She looks like she's going to have a mental breakdown. I know this sounds pretty sinister, but I was slightly relieved when I heard their goal was not to kill me. Trust me, I've grown fond of Tris. She took me into her arms even after all the horrible things I've done to her. And for that, I appreciate her so freakin much but to hear that I'm not the target of this, just made me so happy.

"Tris... we're going to find out who they are, we're going to find them and kill them. I promise you that." Four says embracing her as she begins crying into his arms.

"Are you sure you guys are even on a break. You still act like a couple." Uriah says.

"How did you know about our break?" Tris asks.

"We all knew about it. It wasn't a secret." I say rolling my eyes playfully.

"What going on in our relationship is none of your business." Tris says.

"Okay so you guys are back together?" Christina asks.

"Christina I already told you." She says quietly.

"Ohhhh."

I roll my eyes once again.

"Guys what the heck are we gonna do? They're coming after all of us!" I say.

"Not on my watch. Eric, Peter did you get at least a glimpse of who Alex was talking to?"

"Yes we did indeed. We didn't get a face, but we know they're a male based on their height, very broad shoulders, and shoe size."

"Yeah I think we could have figured that out from their deep voice," Uriah says rolling his eyes "You guys are of no use why are they even here?!"

"Uriah they're trying their best." I say.

"Well, our best even enough! Our friends are getting hurt because of these people and for what reason? I don't know! We haven't figured out their motive yet alone, figure out who the hell they are. Sooner or later, somebody is going to get severely hurt and I can't stand to watch the people I care about get hurt again especially if there's shit I can do about it!" He exclaims.

I take my hands and put it on his shoulders.

"I know you don't want to see us hurt Uriah. But right now, there's only so much we can do. Right now we can just hope that with all the resources we have, we'll be able to find out who Anon is before anyone get's severely injured."

We hear the door slam and we instantly turn to see who it is. It's Alex. I place my hand on my pocket knife in my back pocket.

"What the hell do you want?"

"A truce." She says.

"Yeah right." I scoff.

"No I'm being serious. I'm tired of working for Anon."

"If you're really on our side. Tell us who Anon is." Uriah says.

"That's the problem, I don't know."

"What do you mean you don't know?" He asks.

"Anon isn't just a person. It's an organization. With multiple people, with different goals all over the factions. I just happened to work for them." She says.

"Wait what are you saying?" Four asks.

"What I'm basically saying is that nobody knows who Anon is, not even it's workers." Alex begins, "We were all recruited from the factionless. They promised us another chance, another way we could start over. New names, new identities, new everything. As long as a worked for them."

"So what you mean to tell us is that they're not only out for Tris but they're also hurting other people?" Christina asks.

"You got that right."

"How do we know we can trust you?" Eric asks.

"I'll tell you everything I know about them. Who I was recruited by, how I got into all of it. The president of Anon. I'll tell you everything." She says, with a hopeful look in her eyes.

"I still don't trust her." I say.

"I know I've caused a lot of harm to you and your friends. I get it. But I don't want to be their little spawns anymore. I don't want them to be in control of my every move anymore. I want to be an individual person."

Four steps forward and places his hand on her shoulder. But it wasn't a gesture of comfort, in fact it was more of a gesture of intimidation.

"Tell us everything you know." He says.
