Tris's POV.
I watch as Four walks into the hospital room. He takes one glance at me and then looks back at Alex. Luckily, the glass in her room is built in way that I can see her though the glass, but she can't see me.
I listen carefully as he asked how she was doing and if she was okay. I also hear him apologize on my behalf for being the reason why she's in the hospital in the first place. Then, he smiles at her. Not just any regular smile though, the smile he use to do when he saw me walk into the kitchen in the mornings asking him what he wanted for breakfast.
I look away for a couple of seconds, then build up the courage to look back. This time, he's caressing her hand and telling her how beautiful she looks even though she's hospitalized.
She's smiling back, as if hypnotized by his gaze.
"You look strong enough to go out for a walk," Four says "How about we go around, let's say five thitrty?" He asks, flashing another smile.
"I--I really want to, I'm just probably going to be tired by then because of the medication."
Four sighs, lets go of her hand, and stands up. What is he doing? Half of me is happy that he got away from her while the other is frustrated that he's giving up so easily. He turns back around, and sits on the edge of the bed again.
"I brought you something." He says.
"Really? What is it?" She asks.
He pulls out a small box and opens it up to reveal a necklace with a small red ruby. It literally sparkled as he held it up and presented it to her. She looked at the necklace in awe, as if she's never seen such a beautiful piece of jewelry in her life.
"For you." He says, and helps her put it on her neck.
"You didn't have to Four." She says, beaming.
"But I wanted to."
"Thank you."
"Never a problem."
"I have to go now, I have some business to take care of." He says, getting up and he plants a kiss on her forehead.
He then turns around, wipes his lips, and walks out. When his eyes lock with mine, he sighs and embraces me.
"Nice acting." I say.
"Not proud of it." He states.
"Why?"
"Because I don't like flirting with anyone but you."
My cheeks instantly warms up, but then I remember the necklace he gave her.
"What was that necklace about?" I ask.
He looks down at me, smirks, and says:
"You'll see." and he winks.
Once again, I am turned on for the fifth time by Tobias Eaton.
