ALICE MADE UP HER MIND RELATIVELY FAST, she decided that she wanted to spend the rest of the train ride in Percy's company. Although at first, he insisted that he was fine sitting on his own, Alice swore she heard the loneliness in his tone. It was something she was quite familiar with during her own upbringing. During times of lavish parties hosted by her parents or growing up in general, Alice always felt quite alone in her own little world only surrounded by her thoughts that no one seemed to agree with.

And while Percy had initially put up some form of protest, he eventually settled with the idea of Alice remaining with him. She stood up at one point and opened the compartment door to allow Mr Rabbit and Cheshire inside. He didn't take issue with it, but it seemed Mr Rabbit and Cheshire took issue with him.  The Wonderland creatures didn't appear thrilled at all to be in Percy's company, reacting with Mr Rabbit staring him down in a very stern manner, while Cheshire constantly interrupted Percy any time he attempted to talk.

After some time, Percy decided to excuse himself to the washroom, leaving Alice to round on the two with a scolding look of her own.

"Why are you two being so mean to him?"

"We aren't being mean," Cheshire replied as he came to rest on her shoulder, only to have Mr Rabbit nod in agreement.

"Yes, we haven't said one word to the boy."

"That's exactly my point," Alice told them, " you two are treating him as if he doesn't exist. It's not nice at all."

"Well," Mr Rabbit said, " I never claimed to be a nice rabbit."

Yes, Alice was quite aware that the creatures from Wonderland always had their unique ways of handling situations. But it was Hatter himself that had taught her the importance of manners and while they weren't at a tea party, she was still going to hold the others to the same rules.

"What do you two have against Percy anyways?" She found herself asking, although she wasn't sure if she wanted the honest answer.

"Nothing," Mr Rabbit replied, " except well, he's just..."

"BORING!" Cheshire bellowed out as he hung dramatically off the luggage railings above. "He's dreadfully boring."

"Well, I for one, don't think he's boring at all. He's just different from what we're all used to. He has different interests that don't seem wildly exciting to you two, but I still think he's very interesting."

Mr Rabbit sighed. "I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one, Alice."

When Percy returned, he didn't expect all eyes to be on him as he entered the compartment. He suddenly felt uneasy, especially with Cheshire and Mr Rabbit watching. However, Mr Rabbit averted his gaze after a moment or so, taking to glaring out the window, while Cheshire floated around the room at his pleasure. The only person who seemed happy about his return was Alice as she greeted him with a smile, but Percy didn't know how to respond to that either.
