"Stop." You slammed your fist on the table.

"Stop what?" Rogue looked you in the eyes his black hair not so neatly combed behind his ear.

"Stop being in love with me! I never liked you that way Rogue! You were just... Just a friend. And after everything that's happened to me, you think I'm just going to leave Sting for you? Just like that?!" You hissed.

"Maybe if you saw him for what he really is-"

"What he really is? He's an egotistical white dragonslayer whom is both sexy and passionate, my husband the father of my children, the guild master of Sabertooth and your best friend? Or did I get something wrong?"

Rogue looked down. He knew it was all true and yet you could still see the hurt in his eyes. He must have loved you the same moment Sting had and because he hadn't gotten on your nerves he missed his chance. "Why... Why did you choose him?"

You thought back to the grand magic games all those years ago. Wasn't the moment you met, wasn't the singing, wasn't the constant insults. It was the moment on the balcony. "He... He kissed me..." You said quietly not really answering the question.

"So if I had kissed you before Sting we would be together?" He gritted his teeth.

"Yes..? No..! I- I'm not the one needing help! I know who I love and exact why I love them! You have Yukino, and a lovely daughter! Grow up Rogue I'm not going to fall in love with you!" You pushed him. Maybe you shouldn't have because that sadness turned into anger.

"Why not?! Why can't you love me (Y/N)? Why can't you see I'm better than that bastard!"

You sucked in a breath through your teeth. "Don't you talk about him like that! You grew up with him, you're just as powerful as him magic wise, you both fight for the same morals. You've know him longer than I have so why must you do this to him!"

There was a long silence other than the sound of heavy breathing . His age showed through too. He was tired and or done with feeling like this.

You weren't young anymore and although you tried to act like you were there was no way you could ever turn back the clock permanently. You didn't understand why he couldn't let you go.

"Because I was destined for you." He answered as if he read your mind. "An oracle told me that I would meet a woman with wings of white. She would bear the key to my heart and I would have to fight for her." He sat down again and put his head in his hands.

You ran that over and over in your head before you realized. You burst out into laughter and he looked up in confusion and if possible, more anger. "They weren't talking about me," you giggled. "They meant Yukino."

"No, it you!" He protested but you held up your hand and became serious.

"Wings of white. Key to your heart." You repeated. "Yukino's outfit compared of white feathers which is also her sister's wish. She's a celestial mage, y'know, with keys." You rolled your eyes.

"Fighting for her?" He snapped back.

"We all fought over which guild she would join at the king's party remember? Maybe you did some actual fighting but I'm telling you, you were destined for Yukino." You turned him around and made him see his wife and child outside the window of their home.

His shoulders loosened and he let out a breath, running his fingers through his hair. "I'm sorry... All this time I thought..." He looked down.

"Write it down sometimes dude." You punched him in the arm and left his house, waving to Chey and Yukino as you went.

A/N: so I'm really sad and angry to the point of tears because one of my favorite series has come to a halt. I've finished the last book so far and it ends on a cliff hanger and I'm so... So so angry that I have to wait until the end of this year or next year to read the next book. Like it kills me

Morgan: her mom! I can't believe Keira would end the book like that!!!

Levy: I WANT IT NOW. ITS GOING TO CONSUME MY SOUL
