I'm 18 years and not completely out yet but I decided to just act like everyone knows already so it's more like a slow process. On June 26 2015 I came out as Bi to the first person ever. Half an hour later I found out what happened in the US that day so it seems like this all was off to a great start :) My friend simply just straight up asked me if I preferred chocolate or vanilla cake or if I liked both and I replied with "well you know me, doubt I could ever say no to cake". I had convinced myself that my sexuality wasn't a big deal to me and I didn't really care about coming out but in that moment I suddenly felt so nervous and relieved when he reacted the way he did, it made my knees shake & made me want to hug him for hours. Also, being awkward & shy usually, I'm damn proud of my smooth response haha. Ironically enough, the second time I came out to someone was Bi Visibility day(which I was unaware of) I told a group of friends and it was very casual - they were like "really? cool, didnt know that"- I loved it. I'm very lucky to have such accepting friends and to live in a tolerant environment, up until now I never faced any kind of homophobia/bi-erasure/intolerance in general. That's how it should be everywhere.
It sure does feel great to know "these people know the real me", and to not feel like I'm hiding a part of myself anymore. I'm probably more confident as well because now I officially know it's okay to be like I am.
