more worried

Dad Cimorelli's Pov.

the whole day i have been worrying about alex, lauren and nick.  i couldnt focus at work.  there were so many runners though, more than usual.  its weird.  the post leader sent tommy to the officials place with a letter none of us were aloud to look at.  i dont know whats going on but it makes me even more worried about my kids.  

"mike, your shift is over"  the post leader todl me.  i packed up my things in the duffel bag and walked back to the gaurds center.  there i put my things away in my locker and walked home.  the hunter should have been back by now.  

i started to run because i couldnt wait to see my kids and hug them.   i turned a corner in a full sprint and nearly fell on top of a few kids who were on the ground.  

"dad!"  dani jumped up off the ground and hugged me.  i hugged her back and looked at the other kids.  christian and joey laid near each other, starting to get up.  infront of them were alex, lauren and nick who were sitting there looking around.  

"are you guys okay, anything happen?"  i asked them as i kneeled down and hugged nick and lauren.  alex helped the other boys up before i hugged him.  

"no, we are all fine today"  he told me.  

"well, i was fine until they ran into us"  nick pointed at dani, christian and joey.  i notice he had a scrap on his elbow.  nothing bad.  

"you can deal with runners but when it comes to a tiny scrap your a wimp?"  christian teased him.

"it stings!" nick defended himself.  

"okay, lets get home and we can get you a bandaid"  i told all of them and they started to walk with me.  

when we got home nick, alex and lauren were greeted by more hugs. after every said there hellos and asked questions i got nick his bandaid.  first i had to clean his elbow a little because it had some dirt on it.  

"thanks dad"  he said cheerfully and ran off.  i sat on the coach and kicked my boots off.  my feet could finally breathe.  

"hi honey"  lynne sat next to me.  

"hi"  i put my arm around her.  "not to be rude, but shouldnt you be at the markets"  i asked her.

"no, because im a teacher now they arent making me work there anymore.  i have a few more days off before the school gets up."  she expained.

"oh good.  that will give us two less days of worrying"  i sighed.

"oh come on.  alex is a tough kid.  and hes a great older brother, he wont let anything bad happen to lauren or nick."  lynne cuddle into my chest.

"what if something happens to alex, or hes not with the other two"  i said to her.

"i dont know"  she said.  lynne gave me a kiss on the cheek and went off to start cooking dinner.

alex, lauren, amy, lisa and dani walked passed by the room.  "alex, lauren. come here for a second"  i called for them.  they came back in the room and stood infront of me.

"yes?" lauren asked.  

"can you guys make sure to stick together out there, including nick"  i told them.  i wanted them to settle my worriness.  

"i can stay with nick but alex cant"  lauren said and alex nodded with a frown.

"why not"  i was curious why.

"they put us into little group and im not in a group with lauren and nick"  alex said.

"what?"  i asked, kind of mad that someone didnt look at that before making the groups.

"i dont even see them after we get into the cars and leave the zone"  he continued.

i stared out the window, now even more worried.  i was so worried i thought about sneaking into the cars with them, but i would be caught and in big trouble.  they left the room to catch up with the others.
