First Day

"WAKE UP BAYLEIGH!" Dan and Phil ran in my room screaming. Today was the day that Me and Katlin would be touring Hollygrove High. It wasn't a big momentous occasion but they were acting as if I was taking my first steps. I sat myself up and looked at them. Phil had his big warm smile on but Dan looked slightly worried. He had been expressing how worried he was about me joining another school, talking about bully's and horrible teachers, making me slightly anxious till Phil gave him the death glare and cheered me up with ice-cream. Is there nothing ice-cream cant cure? I had laid out clothes in advance last night as I had a suspicion I would wake up late and ,of course, as usual I did as I was not on school schedule. They left the room for me to change. I pulled on a pair of blue jeans and a large black and red shirt, curling up the cuffs to my elbow. I grabbed my shoes from under the chair in the corner and spent a minute getting them on. The doorbell rang. Katlin said she would come to my house and that Dan would take her as that would be a easier option then her walking. She waltzed into my room wearing a pink knee length dress. She had a grin on her face. I breathed and we walked out of my room , out of the apartment and to the car.

The school told Dan not to make us lunch as they wanted us to fit into the, and I quote, 'vibe of the school' by using the canteen they had on site. We all piled into Phils car. I fiddled with the seatbelt to keep myself occupied. Katlin and Phil were up front, singing halo by Beyoncé. Dan sat at the back staring dreamily out of the window. I kept my eyes locked on my shoes, my thoughts dwelling on everything that could possibly happen. Would Jamie show us around school? I hope he will.

We arrived at the school. It was massive and when I say massive it was like 10 times the size of my own school. When we all got out we all stood staring at it. I took a big gulp of air and we treked up the mountin of stairs. When we finally arrived we walked in to th reception. Dan and Phil went to talk to the receptionist while we sat on the chairs in the corner. After a couple so minutes of filling our some paper work, they walk back over with a small, ginger haired women. She smiled at us and asked us to confirm our names. "Bayliegh...Howell" "Katlin Lewis"
She nodded and lead us to a class room. She knocked on the door politely and waited. She said something that I couldn't hear as I was a good distance away from the door but we heard footsteps. Jamie poked his head around the door and did his cheeky grin. Oh my I love that grin. He walked out and waved. Hugging me first then Katlin.

He showed us around the English block and maths. The tannoy announced break, so Jamie took us the staff room that was emptied for us to use while break comenced. Katlin wanted to go out and talk but we were obliged to stay in the office so we all sat slumped in the corner. Jamie asked us how we liked the school so far. Katlin said she loved it and it was plenty better then our old school. I shrugged.

After break had finished he showed us around the rest of the school. We had just finshed when lunch started. We cued up for food, me, Jamie and Katlin. Dan and Phil had headed back to the staff room so they did not get mobbed. Girls and boys had been looking at them wide eyed and jaw dropped all day. I could feel there stares on me as well. I grabbed a plain cheese sandwich and a bottle of water and handed over the money. Katlin grabbed a salad and a diet coke and Jamie grabbed a BLT with a Fanta. We sat around a table and I told them I liked the school so far, but we hadn't seen the art and drama departments yet.

So after lunch that's were we headed. He showed us the classes and what they did. We saw all the paints and brushes, all the masks and costumes. I knew straight away I wanted to be here.

The bell rang for the end of the day. We left with them. People ran up to Dan and Phil to get autographs and selfies. We stood in the back ground talking about when we would join.
