"I found him! He's over here!" rang through my splitting head. Opening my eyes I could see Hannah jogging up to me with Tessa right behind her with the assistance of Sean. With what I had left in me I attempted to stand. Right away my head began to swim, almost causing me to fall back to the ground.
"Damian what happened to you, your bleeding!? Hannah asked hurriedly. Up in till this point I hadn't noticed the stream of blood running down the side of my head where Joe had made his move.
"Hannah do you really have to ask what happened? Who else would have done something like this? I swear if I see Joe or Kris ever again I'm killing them on sight." Tessa proclaimed.
"Hold on, what do you mean if you ever see them again? Aren't they back at camp?" I manged to ask still struggling to keep myself upright.
"Nope. They must have took off after they got done with you here." Sean said answering me.
"Well, before we do anything else lets get ourselves back to camp." I told them.
Sean started helping Tessa make their way back to the camp. Hannah tried to help me, but I said I could make it myself. As we reached the edge of our camp all of our hearts sank. There was absolutely nothing left, which meant Joe and Kris had come back and made off with the supplies. In other words we only had what we were carrying on us.
"Well this is just great! The bastards came back to camp after all!" Tessa yelled, now being absolutely livid.
"I'd like to keep my hearing so if you don't mind could you not shout right in my ear." Sean said trying to lighten up the mood.
"Sorry Sean." Tessa said as he set her down next to what was left of our fire.
"So, whats the plan now that we have no supplies and are the middle of no where?" Sean asked not directing the question towards anyone specific.
"I don't see anything we can do. We have no supplies left, I'm ready to just sit here and wait for some more screechers come along." I replied honestly feeling like it was pointless for us to try and do anything else.
"Damian don't talk like that. We cant just sit here and wait for death to ensue. This is how I see it, since we have literally nothing to lose we should continue on towards New Orleans. I mean things couldn't possible get worse than they already are." Hannah said.
Now I could see where she was coming from, but I truly didn't want to due anything except sit there. There was no way we could ever make it with no supplies and one of us being injured.
"I think Hannah's right guys. I mean we my swell die trying to achieve what we set out to due." Tessa said following up Hannah.
"Yea guess you guys are right, off to New Orleans I say" Sean replied.
At this point I realized there was no way to talk them out of this. Looked like once again our journey to New Orleans would continue, but this time I was the one who would be forced to come along.
"Fine." is all I had to say.
