We have Charms today. Hopefully we'll get our essays back. I feel anxious just thinking about it! There's a Quidditch game on tomorrow, the first of the season - Gryffindor vs Slytherin. Draco's playing, but I still want Gryfindor to win!

We have Charms very last. I wish it was first. I just want to know how I did! Instead I have to deal with Potions, Defence, and Ancient Runes first. Oh well, might as well get this over and done with.

Draco meets me at the door and we walk down to Potions together, holding hands. I love seeing Pansy's face when we do this. It's priceless. I want to kiss Draco in front of her, just to see how she reacts. I know, I know, I'm cruel.

We stop a little way from the classroom door and wait for Snape. The other Slytherins are gathered right at the door way, talking. They look around and the boys greet Draco. The girls glare at me. I lean up and kiss Draco. I can't help it! I just had to!

"Ow!" I jump, looking down at my arm. My sleeve is on fire. I put it out and turn to see Pansy pointing her wand at me.

"Get your wand out!" she snarls, "we'll have a duel."

"Why?" I ask calmly, while my heart beats like crazy, "I don't have anything against you."

I see Snape emerge from his office and know Pansy can't see him. If I can goad her into cursing me...

I reach out and take Draco's hand.

"DIFFIN-"

"Expelliarmus."

Pansy's wand flies out of her hand and Snape catches it. He raises his eyebrow at me. I look back innocently.

"Miss Parkinson, detention," he says, walking into the classroom. Pansy scowls at me and stomps after him. Draco looks down at me.

"So, you're allowed to goad people in my year?" he asks, then walks off. He sits down in between Crabbe and Goyle. I sigh and sit down with Hermione.

After class I wait for Draco. He's the last to leave.

"I'm sorry," I say, "you're right, that was a double standard."

He shrugs and pulls me into a hug.

"Is your arm okay?" he asks.

"Yeah," I pull my robes back. The skin is pink in places, but nothing too bad. My robes are singed though.

"What do you have now?" Draco asks.

"Defence," I sigh, "you?"

"Herbology," he says, "have fun reading!"

He walks outside while I head up the staircase. I'm the last to arrive, a couple of minutes late, but Umbridge smiles at me and I take my seat. And then I read.

I walk down to lunch with Hermione, Ron and Harry. I look for Draco, but he's not here yet, so I sit down at the Gryffindor table.

"So, Quidditch tomorrow," I say. Hermione rolls her eyes.

"It's all they talk about," she says, nodding at the boys. Ron looks pale.

"Are you nervous?" I ask him. He half shrugs, half shakes his head and grimaces.

"You'll be fine," I tell him.

"And are you cheering for Gryffindor or Slytherin?" Hermione asks.

"Gryffindor, of course, why?"

"Well, your boyfriend is playing for Slytherin," she says. I shrug.

"I'm a Gryffindor," I say, "I want us to win."
