It was dark...wherever I was. I slowly opened my eyes to adjust them. I felt the surface I was on; it was a bed...my bed.

"Oh, I'm in my room." I thought out loud.

As I sat up, there was a pain in my chest. I guess it's still sore from that 'X.' WAIT. I sprung out of my bed, to quickly fall back on to it.

Chest Pains

This time, I slowly hobbled out of bed and into the living room. Everyone was sitting there, waiting I guess. Harper turned her head.

"Ah, your awake!" She cheered.

"How long was I out?"

"About 3 days..." Seraphina answered. "That's not long, most people are out for up to a week."

"3 days?! Are you guys serious?! What about school, my friends, assignments??" I coughed.

"Pfft, don't worry, we covered for you." Estrella chimed in.

"H-how?" My voice croaked.

"Well, we told the school that you went home to see your parents, and gave them your 'excuse' letter." She explained while looking at the bookshelf.

"But anyway, how do you feel? That's a good look for you." Seraphina complimented.

"Wha-?"

I made my way into my room and flicked on the light switch. As I looked in the floor mirror, I saw an almost entirely new person.

Wavy, longer, hair with brown highlights, slimer figure, pale skin, glossy eyes...

"What do you think?" Seraphina asked walking into the room.

"I-"

"Think of it as.. An upgraded you."

To be honest, I thought I looked pretty cool. My hair has grown at least 3 inches and the highlights looked natural. I inspected my teeth in the mirror for fangs.

"Don't bother, they aren't there." Seraphina said annoyed. "Only when you need them, they'll grow in."

"I guess that's convenient." I said still looking at my teeth.

As I thought for a minute, I turned to face Seraphina.

"What about my friends, all these changes..?"

"I dunno. Say you wanted to change your look or something."

"And how about this?" I asked pulling my top down slightly revealing my 'X' scar.

"Ah,That'll never go away, it shows that you belong this clan." She informed.

That's great

"Now you need to figure out your gift and perfect your new skills and senses."

"I don't feel any different.." I began.

"Throughout today, you should experience heightened smell, sight, faster reflexes, and better agility then any animal like, ever." Seraphina listed.

We walked out of the bathroom and back into the living room. Harper and Estrella stood up and walked over. They both asked why I had a whole 'upgrade' and not them. Seraphina said that it only happens to some, but I don't believe her.
Eventually she explained that we'd all need training to perfect our new skills and abilities.
