Hi readers! I'm so sorry about the super late update... I've been busy with finishing school and testing lately. To make up for it, here's a longer than usual chapter to make up for it. Since schools out, I'll have more time for writing! Again, thank you to any loyal readers :) ~ Mococoa_1414
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~After towel drying my hair, I stepped out of the bathroom ready for bed. While I walked into the kitchen, Seraphina stood up and faced me.
"Good your out, we need to have a talk."
"Um okay.. What's up?"
Her behavior made me paranoid. Seraphina pulled out a chair from the kitchen table and sat down. Assuming that she wanted me to sit across from her, I did too.
"Listen, I've discovered a matter at hand here that I absolutely cannot leave unaddressed." She spoke firmly.
Did I do something wrong? Or worse.. Does she know about Calix?
I bit my lip at the thought of being separated from him. He gives so me energy and fills me with warmth. I couldn't fathom the thought of-
"Come with me." She commanded while standing up.
I zoned out in my own thoughts.
"NOW." Her voice rising.
I snapped my head up to look at her and immediately stood up. She lead me into our bedroom. Estrella and Harper were seated on their beds doing their own things. After going into the closet, she turned on her heel and looked me in the eye.
"Pfeiffer.. Why haven't you told us about this?"
"About what?"
"What's going on?" Harper butted in.
"Pfeiffer has decided to keep something from us. Care to explain why you haven't shared this?" She asked holding a medium sized black bag out.
Then, she turned to my bed and dumped out the contents of the bag onto it. Full Hershey bars fell out along with Kit Kats, 3 Musketeers, Twix, and other miscellaneous chocolates.
Thank God it's only that
"You went through my stuff?" I asked.
"No." She said bluntly. "I've been alive long enough to smell chocolate. And this hoard you have here set me off."
I had a bought a ton of chocolate before college started so whenever I needed comfort food, it'd be here. It was purposely hidden for this very reason.
"I'm a chocoholic, what can I say? But I didn't know you liked it... You can have one if you like."
Instantly, the stern look on her face loosened and she smiled like a kid in a candy store. She hugged me before selecting a king sized Hersey bar with almonds.
"Your the best Pfeiffer!" She cheered.
Estrella and Harper threw themselves off their beds and asked for some too. They both took a Snickers bar and sat on their beds. I quickly packed my stash back into the bag and slid it under my bed. At least I know who to blame when it goes missing. Seraphina made this sound like she was gonna kill me for something bad. Well.. She would if she knew about Calix.
"Pfeiffer I thought you took a shower?" Seraphina called from the living room.
I walked in and smelled the air in the room. A familiar smell tickled my nose and I felt a warmth wrap around me. A smile crept across my face and tingles spread throughout me.
