The blaring sound of my alarm startled me, so I forced myself to sit up and stretched out my arms. As I stretched, I saw that my clock read 2 am. Great. Since I'm up, might as well get something from the fridge. I crept into the living room and opened the fridge. The flickering light clicked on. I had to squint since my eyes weren't used to any light at the moment. A nice, tall bottle of root beer caught my attention. While taking it out, I shivered from the cold. I popped the lid off and sat down on the stiff velvet couch. Slowly, I guzzled down my root beer. About a minute later, there was a slight breeze that gently caressed my face. When I got up to close the window, I noticed that it was shut.
Where is the breeze coming from?
Right when I walked passed the front door, I felt another gentle breeze. The door was slightly ajar. Peeking my head out the door, I looked down the dirt path in front of all the dorms. There was a silhouetted figure quickly making their way toward the house. With no hesitation I flew back into my bed. Right after I tucked myself in, the door creaked open and click shut. Light footsteps made their way toward my room. While slightly opening my left eye, I could make out that the person was Seraphina.
She was up at 2 in the morning? I always thought she was somewhat strange... She didn't even go to bed. Instead, she went back to the living room and I heard the TV turn on. Before I went back to sleep, I noticed Estrella was also missing. Since I couldn't do anything about it, I drifted back asleep.

When I woke up, I took a shower and got dressed. Today's outfit was a black tank top with ripped dark wash jeans, red flannel around the waist and black combat boots. Afterwards, I proceeded to the kitchen and made toast. Everyone was in the main part of the dorm, but Estrella still wasn't home."Where's Estrella?" I asked aloud.
"Not sure." Harper responded. "She probably left early for a walk or something."
Seraphina walked in the room.
"Estrella left early to go to the administration office."
"Oh okay." Harper replied.
That had to be a lie. If anything, she could've come home after I fell back asleep. Something didn't make sense. I looked up at the clock. It read 8:45 am. I was meeting Cyprian and Paasch at the commons field. Announcing that I was leaving, they both said 'bye,' and I started walking.
When I got there I saw two people sitting at a picnic table. I wasn't sure that it was them. As I got closer, I could see them more clearer. But, there was a third person. It was Calix.
I stopped dead in my tracks. The weird feelings from days ago started to make their way back into my mind. Heat rushed to my cheeks and I felt antsy. Him. I needed to be where he was.
"Hey guys!" I managed to call out.
Their heads all popped up. Calix quickly sprung up from his chair but Paasch cut him off before he could get to me. Once I reached them, Paasch hugged me and shook me around. Cyprian and I fist bumped. I could already feel Calix looking at me when I turned to him.
"Hi." I greeted.
"Hey Pfeiffer."
Him saying my name made me feel tingly. While staring at each other Paasch began to talk.
"Since you guys met only briefly, we wanted you guys to talk and hang out. Well... BYE!" Paasch smiled and walked away with Cyprian. I turned to face Calix.
